From Novus Ordo Presbyter to Roman Catholic Priest:
An Interview with Father Michael DeSaye
Few things could be more difficult than for a Novus Ordo priest to realize that, despite his sincere love of God and genuine piety, the religion to which he has been unwittingly adhering all his life is not in fact the Roman Catholic religion of time immemorial but a counterfeit concocted in the 20th century.
Probably the only thing more distressing still is the realization that, through no fault of his own, his ordination to the priesthood was most probably invalid, meaning he has never in his life offered a valid Mass nor granted a single valid absolution.… READ MORE
Pope Pius IX’s Syllabus of LEFEBVRIST Errors (1873)
On January 6, 1873, the magnificent Pope Pius IX published the encyclical letter Quartus Supra. It is addressed to “Our Venerable Brothers Anthony Peter IX, Patriarch of Cilicia, and the Archbishops, Bishops, Clergy and Laity, Our Beloved Children of the Armenian Rite Who are in Loving Communion with the Apostolic See.”
This beautiful magisterial text concerns the threat of an emerging schism in the Armenian church and refutes the specious argumentation brought forward by those trying to justify their disobedience while still claiming to be loyal subjects of the Pope.… READ MORE
It is often thought that the first appearance of the term “Conciliar Church” was in 1976, when “Archbishop” (later “Cardinal”) Giovanni Benelli, then the Vatican’s Substitute Secretary of State, wrote in a letter to Abp. Marcel Lefebvre, founder of the traditionalist Society of St. Pius X (SSPX):
Do not use as a pretext the confused state of the seminarians who were to be ordained: this is just the opportunity to explain to them and to their families that you cannot ordain them to the service of the Church against the will of the supreme Pastor of the Church.
President of Catholic Answers is featured Speaker at SSPX Angelus Press Conference
How times change!
Catholic Answers is a lay-run Novus Ordo apologetics organization founded by Karl Keating in 1979. It is located in El Cajon, California, and its current president is Christopher Check, who was appointed in 2015 with the endorsement of Keating. Catholic Answers is as mainstream Novus Ordo as it gets and, at least until “Pope” Francis came along, it was considered a conservative organization. When Jorge Bergoglio (Francis) moved into the Vatican in 2013, it became more and more difficult to keep up the facade of being conservative and Catholic while still being perfectly obedient to the Jesuit apostate.… READ MORE

Thirteen Inconvenient Questions
for the Society of St. Pius X
It has now been over three years that the priestly fraternity established in 1970 by Abp. Marcel Lefebvre, the so-called Society of St. Pius X (SSPX), has had a new superior general. On July 11, 2018, the SSPX general chapter convened in Econe, Switzerland, and elected Fr. Davide Pagliarani for a twelve-year term to succeed Bp. Bernard Fellay as head of the group, who had been in office since 1994.
Considering how antithetical to all the SSPX stands for, the last eight-and-a-half years under “Pope” Francis (Jorge Bergoglio) have been, one would think that the Lefebvrists are up in arms against the brazen apostasy being constantly perpetrated by the man they insist is the Vicar of Christ on earth.… READ MORE
Free Transcript: Bp. Donald Sanborn analyzes Traditionis Custodes – PLUS: More Resources
On July 24, 2021, the folks at True Restoration released a phenomenal podcast episode of their popular FRANCIS WATCH program. It was a special episode (no. 47) dedicated to the decree Traditionis Custodes the false pope had just released, in which he essentially phases out, however gradually, the use of the 1962 Roncalli Missal (the “Traditional Latin Mass”, for all intents and purposes) in the Vatican II Church.
Paul VI in 1976: Vatican II is Binding, New Mass is Obligatory and Replaces the Old

If you’ve been researching Catholic Traditionalism for a while, chances are you’ve come across the argument made by recognize-and-resist apologists that “Pope” Paul VI (1963-78) himself confirmed that his Second Vatican Council (1962-65) was neither infallible nor binding.
Pope Paul VI promulgated Dignitatis humanae on 7 December 1965, and the next day he closed the Second Vatican Council and stated: “The magisterium of the Church did not wish to pronounce itself under the form of extraordinary dogmatic pronouncements” [footnote: Pope Paul VI, Discourse closing Vatican II, 7 December 1965].

Venerable Brothers,
Since the day on which, now more than three years ago, by the fixing of the number of Cardinal Electors, we filled the gaps created in your Sacred College, this latter has suffered the sad loss of our Brethren whom we all remember with affectionate sorrow, and on the other hand, some of its members have reached the established age at which they can no longer take part in the election of the Roman Pontiff.… READ MORE
MELTDOWN: Round-Up of Reactions to Francis’ Suppression of the Traditional Latin Mass
Now that almost two weeks have passed since the release of Traditionis Custodes, “Pope” Francis’ motu proprio “Apostolic Letter” that severely limits (and gradually eliminates) the Traditional Latin Mass (1962 Missal), a lot of reactions have poured in from various quarters of the Vatican II Church; especially, of course, from those who consider themselves traditionalists, since they are the ones negatively affected by the suppression of Benedict XVI’s Summorum Pontificum.
By phasing out the Traditional Latin Mass (aka Tridentine Mass), a decision he allegedly made based on answers procured through a questionnaire process, Francis has ripped the heart out of the traditionalists in his church.… READ MORE

Great news!
The popular podcast program FRANCIS WATCH has returned with a special edition dedicated to the release of Traditionis Custodes, the “Apostolic Letter” with which Jorge Bergoglio (“Pope Francis”) severely restricts and gradually phases out the Traditional Latin Mass, or more specifially, the use of the Roman Missal of 1962 and before.
Novus Ordo Watch is pleased to sponsor this important episode, in which host Matthew Gaskin of True Restoration analyses with his distinguished guest, Bp.… READ MORE
Top Lefebvrist contradicts traditional Catholic doctrine
SSPX Superior General blasts Traditionis Custodes:
A Sedevacantist Critique
SSPX Superior General, Fr. Davide Pagliarani
Yesterday, on July 22, 2021, the headquarters of the Lefebvrist Society of Saint Pius X (FSSPX or SSPX) in Menzingen, Switzerland, released an official Letter from its Superior General, Fr. Davide Pagliarani, in response to the recent “Apostolic Letter” issued motu proprio by “Pope” Francis, Traditionis Custodes, which severely limits the use of the Roman Missal of 1962 (“Traditional Latin Mass”) and eventually phases it out completely. It can be found here:
Unlike the polemical article “From the Reserve to the Zoo” which the SSPX news team had released on July 17, this more formal reaction from the Superior General is quite different in tone, yet just as stern on the issues.… READ MORE
Pope St. Pius X slams Recognize-and-Resist, says Ultimate Criterion of Orthodoxy is Obedience to Living Magisterium
There is Catholic Tradition and then there is “Catholic Tradition”.
The former is what one actually finds in the traditional (i.e. pre-Vatican II) Catholic theology books and the pronouncements of the papal magisterium, whereas the latter is a popularly-accepted caricature thereof that consists of an assortment of quasi-theological ideas cobbled together from select quotations and slogans that were once popularized by recognize-and-resist apologists like Michael Davies (1936-2004) and have been perpetuated ever since by the Lefebvrists and their theological cousins.
