NEW: Donate to Novus Ordo Watch by Text Message using your Phone

In an effort to make it easier for people to support our little apostolate financially, we are now accepting donations by text message (SMS). After an initial one-time setup, you will be able to send any U.S. Dollar (USD) amount simply by texting the word GIVE to our automated toll-free number.

Here’s how it works after initial setup:

  • Send the word GIVE by text message to (833) 515-0366. This number may not work outside the United States of America.
  • You will receive an automated response within seconds asking: How much would you like to give?
  • Enter the desired USD amount as a whole number and without a currency symbol. For example, if you would like to donate $25.00, simply text back: 25
  • You will receive an automated confirmation saying: Thank you for your gift! Once the processing completes you will receive an email confirmation. Reply UNDO within 15 minutes to cancel or RECURRING to make a regular gift.
  • That’s it! And yes, you read that right: You have 15 minutes to change your mind. Simply text UNDO within that timeframe and your donation will be canceled — your card or bank account will not be charged, and there will be no questions asked. You will then receive the automated reply: Your gift has been cancelled.
  • To make all this even quicker, you can text the word GIVE followed by the amount in one single message. For example, to donate $25.00 you could simply text GIVE 25 and you will get the same automatic confirmation and the same 15-minute cancellation period. Please be aware that you must leave a single space between GIVE and the amount.

First-time use requires a brief setup. Here’s what to do:

  • Send the word GIVE by text message to (833) 515-0366. This number may not work outside the United States of America.
  • You will receive an automated response within seconds asking: How much would you like to give?
  • Enter the desired USD amount as a whole number and without a currency symbol. For example, if you would like to donate $25.00, simply text back: 25
  • You will get an automated reply saying: It looks like you aren’t set up yet. Please visit this page to configure text-to-give: followed by a customized link to aplos.com, which is our payment platform.
  • Click on that link. It will take you a form into which you can enter your email address and payment information and indicate whether you want this gift to recur automatically every month (see image below). When you’re done, hit SUBMIT. That’s it! And don’t worry, this does not take long and only needs to be done once. You can use a credit card, a debit card, or a bank account. The form looks like this:

As you can see, we’re making it very easy for our readers to help us out financially. Of course people are still able and welcome to send donations the conventional way.

Remember: The amount you send does not have to be much, and in the United States your donation is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. If everyone who likes or benefits from this web site only donated $5 a month, we would not need to have any more fundraisers. A big thank-you to all who have supported us in the past or are supporting us now!

So… next time you see some great content on this web site and feel like sending us a few dollars, you won’t need to go through a transactional rigmarole anymore. Just shoot us a text with the desired amount and you’re good to go!

Hey, why not try it out right now and get yourself all set up? 😉

Novus Ordo Watch is a DBA of Interregnum Foundation, Inc. (our federal tax ID number is 81-1473306). So if you see Interregnum Foundation anywhere in this process, not to worry — that’s us!

One last thing: Depending on your cell phone plan and/or your location, you may incur charges or fees for sending text messages. Novus Ordo Watch is not responsible for any charges incurred by the user.
