On Mar. 21, 2000, the Polish apostate bishop Karol Wojtyla — better known as ‘Pope’ and ‘Saint’ John Paul II (r. 1978-2005) — was visiting the nation of Jordan as part of a larger pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

That day he visited what is held to be the site of Christ’s baptism at the River Jordan, and after he had recited a special prayer for the occasion, he gave some concluding remarks of gratitude and greeting and ended with these words (underlining added):

I will keep all the people of Jordan – Christians and Muslims – in my prayers, especially the sick and the elderly.

Podcast: Leo XIV, Anglicans, and Other Non-Catholics
(TRADCAST EXPRESS 225)

Our latest podcast episode, TRADCAST EXPRESS 225, was published on April 29. It is 24 minutes long, highly informative, and treats a number of different topics.

First we talk about what is perhaps the biggest story of this week, namely, ‘Pope’ Leo XIV giving a private audience to ‘Her Grace’, Mrs. Sarah Mullally, dressed in the costume of the Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury. Under Leo, the ecumenical circus is in full swing no less than under his predecessors.

Another topic of discussion is the curious participation of the Novus Ordo bishop of Fresno, Joseph Vincent Brennan, in the conferral of episcopal consecration on an Episcopalian (Anglican) bishop — something that is forbidden even by the standards of the Vatican II Church.… READ MORE

Church’s Anti-Modernist Teachings Have Been ‘Superseded’

On June 26, 1990, the Vatican released a 27-page “Instruction on the Ecclesial Vocation of the Theologian” bearing the official title Donum Veritatis (“The Gift of Truth”). It is available on the Vatican web site in English and sundry other languages:

The text was presented at a press conference by then-‘Cardinal’ Joseph Ratzinger (1927-2022), who at the time was head of the so-called Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith under ‘Pope’ John Paul II (r.READ MORE

What Has Happened to the Catholic Church?
An Updated Guide for Confused Catholics

Novus Ordo Watch is not receiving any kind of compensation for promoting this book (with the exception of one free copy).

Many people who sincerely desire to be good and loyal Roman Catholics are seriously troubled and confused today. Although the Second Vatican Council occurred more than 60 years ago, it has left a lasting impact. Vatican II, as the council is called for short, took place from 1962-65 and radically changed Catholic liturgy, the sacraments, and essential beliefs that have come down to us from Christ and the Apostles.… READ MORE

On March 16, 2025, the Vatican Press Office finally released a photo of ‘Pope’ Francis at the hospital to reassure the world that he is indeed still alive and more or less able to function within the limits of his medical condition:

Who Came Up with the Idea that Christ’s Church ‘Subsists in’ the Catholic Church, as Vatican II Teaches?

Many readers of this blog will be familiar with the controversy concerning the teaching of the Second Vatican Council (1962-65) that the Church founded by Jesus Christ “subsists in” (Latin: subsistit in) the Roman Catholic Church, as taught in its 1964 dogmatic constitution on the Church, as follows:

This Church constituted and organized in the world as a society, subsists in the Catholic Church, which is governed by the successor of Peter and by the Bishops in communion with him, although many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside of its visible structure.

Vatican Issues Ecumenical ‘Study Document’ Downgrading the Papacy to Appeal to Non-Catholics

The Vatican’s next salvo against Roman Catholicism has been fired, this time in the name of ecumenism and synodality.

Today the Vatican’s so-called Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity released a 146-page ‘study’ document entitled The Bishop of Rome: Primacy and Synodality in the Ecumenical Dialogues and in the Responses to the Encyclical Ut Unum Sint. It contains a preface by the Swiss ‘Cardinal’ Kurt Koch, who is the prefect of the Dicastery, meaning he is the Vatican’s top ecumenist.… READ MORE

A reader of this web site recently found a real treasure buried on an old VHS tape: a debate on Sedevacantism between Society of St. Pius V (SSPV) clergy and ‘mainstream’ traditionalists.

The length of the recording is 2 hours 43 minutes. The exchange must have taken place around 1995. The participants were Bp. Clarence Kelly and Fr. William Jenkins for the SSPV, versus Fr.’READ MORE

‘Archbishop’ Georg Gänswein is back in the news.

His tell-all book Nothing but the Truth: My Life Beside Benedict XVI, the release of which reportedly made ‘Pope’ Francis furious, hit the shelves in Italy at the beginning of this year. At the time, it was not yet clear when or by whom it would be published in English. Benedict XVI, Joseph Ratzinger, had just died two weeks prior.

But now, on Oct. 23, 2023, St.READ MORE

Francis endorses Teilhard de Chardin’s ‘Mass on the World’

His true god was evolution: the French Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, S.J.

On his recent blather tour in Mongolia (Aug. 31 – Sep. 4, 2023), the Argentinian apostate Jorge Bergoglio (‘Pope Francis’) offered some impromptu remarks after presiding over the Novus Ordo worship service (incorrectly termed ‘Holy Mass’) in the capital of Ulaanbaatar on Sep. 3. He took the opportunity to speak favorably of the notorious French Jesuit Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955) and his infamous ‘Mass on the World’, written in 1923:

The Mass is itself a way of giving thanks: “Eucharistía”.

Francis to Hungarian Jesuits: Wanting to go back to pre-Vatican II days is ‘Nostalgic Disease’

‘Pope’ Francis likes nothing better than to share with the world his infinite wisdom on just about anything, especially when it comes to replacing Roman Catholicism with the latest novelties of the “god of surprises”.

Thus, when the Argentinian pseudo-pope embarked on his umpteenth ‘Apostolic Journey’ this past April 28, this time to Hungary, it was clear he would meet with his Jesuit confreres there for a little question-and-answer session, because that has become the custom on his trips. The scheduled get-together took place on Saturday, Apr.… READ MORE

Beware of false apparitions and suspect devotions…

The Divine Mercy Devotion:
Condemned by the Vatican in 1959

Only few people have never heard of the so-called “Divine Mercy” devotion. It has its origin in the alleged visions of a Polish nun by the name of Sr. Faustina Kowalska (1905-1938), a member of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy. The “Divine Mercy” devotion is extremely popular in the Vatican II Church, owing for the most part to the efforts of the apostate bishop Karol Wojtyla, first as the “Archbishop” of Cracow, then as “Pope” John Paul II.

A great number of traditional Catholics, as well, have been led to accept this devotion, which, unfortunately, is sometimes confused with the most noble and laudable devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which is based chiefly on the revelations of Our Lord to St.… READ MORE

Theology of the Bawdy: Francis appoints Sodomy Supporter to lead Vatican Synod Retreat in October

Dominican friar Timothy Radcliffe knows how to blaspheme…

In October of this year the Vatican will hold another one of its infamous “synods”, that is, a meeting with a large number of “bishops” chosen from around the world to spend three weeks listening to boring lectures, reading boring lengthy documents, and then discussing the stuff with their colleagues before collaborating to produce a final document for Francis to use in his post-synodal “Apostolic exhortation”.

This year, the theme of the synod is — wait for it — synodality.… READ MORE
