Ed Pentin interviews Henry Sire

A Video Interview with the Author of The Dictator Pope

Today, April 23, is the day of the official release of the second and expanded edition of The Dictator Pope, a very frank and therefore highly unflattering look at the person of Jorge Bergoglio, especially in his stage act as “Pope Francis”. The author, historian Henry J. A. Sire, is not a sedevacantist and so cannot be accused of bias in our favor.

Subtitled The Inside Story of the Francis Papacy, Sire’s portrait of the Jesuit apostate has already received praise and confirmation from sources close to Francis:

What I am most pleased at is that the book was immediately noticed in high ecclesiastical circles. One cardinal, who knows the Vatican well, has said, “90 per cent of the book is incontrovertible.” This is a reflexion of the concern that is felt at the way in which Pope Francis is governing the Church.

(Henry Sire, Interview with Gloria TV, Gloria.TV, Apr. 3, 2018)

One of the most interesting tidbits Sire offers in his book is perhaps the following:

Bergoglio was not at ease with people who were in a position to overshadow him psychologically, intellectually, or socially. He was a recruit from a lower social level than many of his companions in the Society of Jesus, and in the class-conscious society that is Argentina’s legacy from its oligarchic past this was always a visible handicap. He dealt with it by affecting an exaggerated vulgarity (thus leading to the complaints about coarse language mentioned in the Kolvenbach Report), while at large gatherings he would make a point of ignoring the bigwigs and spending time chatting genially to the cleaners and manual workers. One can see a similar defense mechanism in his assumption of a simple, retiring persona which was in fact a cover for close psychological control.

On Apr. 20, Vatican journalist Edward Pentin published an interesting video interview he conducted with Sire, who has used the pseudonym Marcantonio Colonna for the purposes of this book:

The first edition of The Dictator Pope had been released only in electronic format (see our blog post here) and quickly became a top seller on Amazon. The updated and expanded second edition is now ready to ship:

The Dictator Pope: The Inside Story of the Francis Papacy
by H.J.A. Sire

The official Twitter account of The Dictator Pope is @DictatorPope, where the author has been tweeting some very informative and explosive content. Sire is evidently a traditionalist of the indult/SSPX/recognize-and-resist stripe.
