Bp. Williamson ordains new bishop

Bp. Jean-Michel Faure

Neo-Traditionalist ‘Resistance’ gets a new Bishop, SSPX condemns, Vatican expected to announce Excommunication

The do-your-own-thing religion of Neo-Traditionalism, more specifically the camp of the “really-really-bad Resistance trads” (i.e. those who split from the SSPX because the SSPX was no longer SSPX enough), has gotten a new bishop: Fr. Jean-Michel Faure, 73, was consecrated on March 19, 2015, by Bp. Richard Williamson, 75, in Nova Friburgo, Brazil, near Rio de Janeiro. (We had blogged on the impending consecration here.)

Williamson is one of the original four bishops consecrated by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in Econe, Switzerland, on June 30, 1988 (see video here), which was the official date of the beginning of what has come to be known as the “Lefebvre schism” in the Novus Ordo Church.… READ MORE

Episcopal Consecration on March 19

Former SSPX Bp. Richard Williamson to
Consecrate Fr. Jean-Michel Faure a Bishop

williamson-faure.jpg

At age 73, Fr. Faure, right, is only two years younger than his consecrator

The following report is a repost from the Novus Ordo / indult Rorate Caeli web site (original post here):

It was only a matter of time. Ever since Bishop Richard Williamson eventually caused the Society of Saint Pius X (FSSPX / SSPX) to force his own expulsion from that Society in 2012, the watch has been on for him to consecrate one or more bishops. This became even more inevitable as he has failed to recruit any significant number of clergy or faithful away from the SSPX in a so-called “Resistance” attempt.

“This Church deserves this Pope…”

Alessandro Gnocchi: “Bergoglio is Destroying the Catholic Church… He is Not Catholic”

The following recent story seems to have fallen through the cracks of the usual English-speaking Novus Ordo and “traditionalist” blogs and web sites, so we’re happy to provide it here.

Italian author Alessandro Gnocchi (b. 1959) writes a weekly column called Fuori Moda (“Old-Fashioned”) for the Riscossa Cristiana web site, in which he answers questions people send him. In the February 4, 2015 installment, Gnocchi responds to a lady named Lisetta, who asks, with all the evidence he has provided about “Pope” Francis’ denial of Catholic truths, would it not be easier to “say what [Antonio] Socci says” about Francis, namely, that Jorge Bergoglio is not in fact a valid Pope (see here)?

Twelve Inconvenient Questions
for the Society of Saint Pius X

We challenge the clergy and/or lay faithful of the Society of St. Pius X to answer the following questions. All questions ought to be answered, insofar as applicable, with proof from authoritative Catholic magisterial sources, such as papal encyclicals, decrees of ecumenical councils, or approved catechisms and theological manuals, before the death of Pope Pius XII (1958). Novel concepts, such as “partial communion” or “Eternal Rome vs. Today’s Rome”, are not acceptable, as they have no foundation in Catholic teaching. In addition, anyone answering these questions ought not to seek refuge in vague formulations or ambiguous expressions: “But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil” (Mt 5:37).… READ MORE

More calls for “resistance”…

First Burke, then Lenga, now Schneider:
The Schism Begins

Things are getting wild, folks. While a formal, full-blown schism may still be a couple of years away, we believe that recent events indicate we are seeing an intra-Novus-Ordo schism in its infancy.

In October 2014, just before the dramatic “Synod on the Family” began, we explained at length what we saw as the foundation for believing that there is a major rift coming between Bergoglio-Modernists on the one hand and Ratzinger/Wojtyla-Modernists on the other:

Just in the past week, three further developments have taken place, involving two Novus Ordo bishops and one cardinal, that underscore the reality of the rift that is beginning to take shape: On February 8, a French television program aired an interview with “Cardinal” Raymond Burke, widely seen as Francis’ highest-ranking and most outspoken antagonist, in which the layman-dressed-as-cardinal made clear that he would “resist” any attempts by Francis to permit those living in public sin to receive the Novus Ordo sacraments.

That schism is coming…

“I Will Resist”

In Interview on French Television, “Cardinal” Burke pledges he will resist and oppose “Pope” Francis if he should allow Public Adulterers to receive Communion

That schism we’ve been predicting for months is now beginning to take more concrete shape, it seems. During an interview with a French television channel, the recently-demoted “Cardinal” Raymond Burke declares quite plainly that he is ready to “resist” Francis if the latter should grant access to the sacraments to unrepentant adulterers, which is being rumored may happen at the Synod scheduled for October of this year (last year’s first Synod on this topic was a bloodbath, if you recall).

Not all ignorance is bliss…

Culpable Ignorance & the Great Apostasy:
A Sobering Reality Check

During last year’s Fatima Conference sponsored by the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen (CMRI) in Spokane, Washington, Mr. Jeffrey Knight, pictured above, gave a most informative lecture on the subject of every Catholic’s duty to know his Faith, even, and especially, in our difficult times. Too often, people try to take the easy way out and find excuses to not investigate what the Catholic Faith requires us to hold — and how it requires us to act — with respect to the Modernists in the Vatican claiming to be the legitimate Roman Catholic authorities.… READ MORE

Is Francis a Valid Pope?
—Why It Does Matter

In a blog post published on October 25, 2014 by The Remnant, pseudonymous author ‘Megaera Erinyes’ tries a new approach to the issue of Sedevacantism, the question of whether Francis is in fact a valid Pope or an illicit usurper: She says it doesn’t matter.

Now that’s just rich for a publication that has spent considerable amounts of ink opposing Sedevacantism over the decades. What is going on here?

In what follows, we will look at some salient points made in the Erinyes article and contrast them with traditional Catholic teaching to explain why it really does matter if Francis is the Pope.… READ MORE

How Long Until Schism?
The Vatican II Sect on the Brink of Chaos

The Synod on the Family had not even started yet, and already all hell was breaking loose: Francis’ endless tyranny against the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate over their slight drift towards traditionalism; The Remnant’s much-hyped Petition to Stop the Synod’s embarrassing failure to get even 1,400 unverified signatures; Novus Ordo cardinals being at each other’s throats over what the Synod is and isn’t permitted to change; Francis’ invitation of Belgium’s scandal-ridden “Cardinal” Daneels to participate in the synod while showing conservative-minded “bishops” the door (he did once work as a bouncer, you know); and on top of all this, a respected Italian journalist’s well-timed release of a book making the case that Francis isn’t even a valid Pope!… READ MORE

St. Francis of Assisi Prophecy:

“A Man, not Canonically Elected, will be raised to the Pontificate… In those days Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor, but a Destroyer.”

Shortly before he died in 1226, St. Francis of Assisi called together the members of his order and warned them of great tribulations that would befall the Church in the future, saying:

Act bravely, my Brethren; take courage, and trust in the Lord. The time is fast approaching in which there will be great trials and afflictions; perplexities and dissensions, both spiritual and temporal, will abound; the charity of many will grow cold, and the malice of the wicked will increase.

Mgr. Fenton on the Failure of Vatican II
— What John Vennari didn’t tell you

Mr. John Vennari

John Vennari, editor of the recognize-and-resist flagship publication Catholic Family News, has long been an ardent proponent of the great anti-Modernist theologian Mgr. Joseph Clifford Fenton (1906-1969), and rightly so. Fenton was indeed a remarkably gifted and zealous opponent of Modernism in the twentieth century, a genuine stronghold of Catholic orthodoxy amid the theological liberalism that was trying to gain foot in the years leading up to the Second Vatican Council (1962-65).

For well over ten years, and again very recently, Vennari has been quoting in his articles and talks from an essay written by Mgr.… READ MORE

A Failed Strategy:
“Resisting from Within” the Novus Ordo Church

by Bp. Donald J. Sanborn

[Taken from In Veritate Blog]

…Now that fifty years have transpired since Vatican II, can we really say that the movement from within has succeeded? After a half a century of resisting from within, has the tidal wave of Vatican II receded? Has the Catholic faith become stronger in the souls of baptized Catholics? As we look around at the vineyard of the Church, is it flourishing with deep faith and obedience to the commandments of God? Are the sheep of Christ in good hands?

The Catholic Church and the “Conciliar” Church: Two Churches in One?

Bp. Donald Sanborn dismantles a Linchpin Doctrine of Recognize-and-Resist Theology

In his June 2014 newsletter, Bp. Donald Sanborn, rector of the sedevacantist Most Holy Trinity Seminary in Brooksville, Florida, provides an insightful perspective on the ontological status of what we like to call the “Novus Ordo Sect”, “Vatican II Church” or “Conciliar Church” and the panacean role this concept, in modified form, plays in the ever-convenient but thoroughly erroneous “recognize-and-resist” position, which acknowledges Francis as Pope but rejects his teachings, disciplines, and canonizations. The recognize-and-resisters effectively believe that there are two churches in one — the true one and a false one — and it is their task to figure out when the true Church is speaking and when the false one rears its ugly head.… READ MORE
