Refuting a popular but false narrative…

Taylor Marshall and Quo Primum: Did Pope St. Pius V Really Grant a Perpetual Right to the Traditional Mass?

There are a number of urban legends floating around the traditionalist Catholic world that simply will not die.

One of the more popular ones is the claim that in his 1570 bull Quo Primum, Pope St. Pius V granted to all Catholic priests of the Roman rite the perpetual right to offer Holy Mass according to the rite he was then promulgating, which is today known as the Traditional Latin Mass; and that no subsequent Pope has the authority to withdraw that permission or revoke that right.… READ MORE

Francis Wants Fraternity of St Peter (FSSP) to Concelebrate Annual Novus Ordo Chrism Mass

On Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, the Superior General of the Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP), accompanied by French district superior and the German seminary rector, met with ‘Pope’ Francis (Jorge Bergoglio) for a private audience in the Vatican. A gallery of photos of the visit is available here.

The FSSP was established in 1988, facilitated by ‘Pope’ John Paul II, for those members of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) who wanted to continue “to celebrate Divine Worship according to the guidelines of immemorial tradition” but disassociate from the SSPX after the unlawful episcopal consecrations of Abp.… READ MORE

‘Bishop’ Athanasius Schneider issues Statement declaring Disobedience against Traditionis Custodes to be Legitimate

He rules no flock but presumes to issue directives to the Universal Church: Athanasius Schneider

For the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, ‘Bishop’ Athanasius Schneider (b. 1961), auxiliary of the diocese of Maria Santissima in Astana, Kazakhstan, has released a statement for publication and dissemination in semi-traditionalists quarters that presumes to effectively overrule ‘Pope’ Francis’ anti-Latin-Mass decree Traditionis Custodes, declaring those who reject it to be free from the guilt of disobedience.

Rorate Caeli is one of the blogs carrying it:

To someone who does not merely pay lip service to the Catholic understanding of the Papacy but actually adheres to it, this whole scenario appears grotesque.… READ MORE

Francis to Hungarian Jesuits: Wanting to go back to pre-Vatican II days is ‘Nostalgic Disease’

‘Pope’ Francis likes nothing better than to share with the world his infinite wisdom on just about anything, especially when it comes to replacing Roman Catholicism with the latest novelties of the “god of surprises”.

Thus, when the Argentinian pseudo-pope embarked on his umpteenth ‘Apostolic Journey’ this past April 28, this time to Hungary, it was clear he would meet with his Jesuit confreres there for a little question-and-answer session, because that has become the custom on his trips. The scheduled get-together took place on Saturday, Apr.… READ MORE

Can Francis Ban the Latin Mass?

Sedevacantist Critique of a recent Taylor Marshall Podcast

(Part 2 of 2)

On Jan. 27, 2023, Dr. Taylor Marshall interviewed Mr. Matthew Gaspers on the topic of whether a Pope can abolish the Traditional Latin Mass of the Roman rite.

Spoiler alert: Gaspers answered with a “definite no” and presented a total of three magisterial quotes and two quotes from Doctors of the Church he thinks prove that a Pope is not permitted to abolish the ancient Roman liturgy, and if he does, all the other members of the Church have the right and/or duty to reject such a decree as void and worthless.… READ MORE

Can Francis Ban the Latin Mass?

Sedevacantist Critique of a recent Taylor Marshall Podcast

(Part 1 of 2)

On Jan. 27, 2023, Dr. Taylor Marshall interviewed Mr. Matthew Gaspers on the topic of whether a Pope can abolish the Traditional Latin Mass of the Roman rite and replace it with a liturgical aberration such as the Novus Ordo Missae of ‘Saint’ Paul VI. Spoiler alert: Gaspers answered with a “definite no”.

While it is clear that a Pope indeed cannot promulgate something so horrendous as the false mass of Paul VI, since every true Pope is divinely protected from instituting for the entire Church evil, heretical, sacrilegious, or otherwise harmful disciplinary laws or sacramental rites (see Denz.READ MORE

Details emerge: Bergoglio’s rumored Next Attack on the Traditional Latin Mass

The false pope is determined to protect the world from the liturgical books of 1962…

On Jan. 14, 2023, the German indult blog Summorum Pontificum reported on a credible rumor about “Pope Francis” and his liturgical henchmen preparing another, more severe set of restrictions for the use of the Roman Missal of 1962, after the implementation of Traditionis Custodes has apparently been too lackluster and too slow for the man whose real name is Jorge Bergoglio:

Francis rumored to be preparing new Decree against Traditional Latin Mass

It behooves bloggers to be careful with rumors. It is too easy for a story to make the rounds that ends up being false — “fake news”, as it is called in our day.

At the same time, not all rumors are equal. Some are more credible than others, and in the case of the one before us right now, we think it worth reporting on, considering the source: the German ‘indult’ blog Motu-proprio: Summorum-Pontificum, which is run by Michael Charlier. It is a kind of German equivalent to the English-speaking Rorate Caeli blog, although the two are not connected.… READ MORE

On June 29, 2022, the Jesuit apostate Jorge Bergoglio (“Pope Francis”) issued a so-called Apostolic Letter, entitled Desiderio Desideravi. The title is taken from the holy Words of our Lord Jesus Christ at the beginning of the Last Supper: “With desire I have desired to eat this pasch with you, before I suffer” (Lk 22:15).

The subject matter with which this letter concerns itself is that of the Sacred Liturgy, or, in Vatican II speak: “on the liturgical formation of the People of God”.… READ MORE

Chaos Frank permits FSSP to keep Old Mass…

What Game is Francis playing with the Fraternity of Saint Peter?

He knows how to move pieces: The Argentinian apostate Jorge Bergoglio, S.J.

Predicting what Jorge Bergoglio will do is a dangerous and forlorn task. The man otherwise known as “Pope Francis” is a master manipulator, a cunning schemer, and a malicious deceiver. To “expect the unexpected” is probably the best advice one can give when it comes to the apostate Jesuit from Buenos Aires.

Report: Vatican preparing Decree on Ecclesia Dei Institutes to be released in March
