Podcast: Athanasius Schneider, Taylor Marshall, and the Traditional Latin Mass
(TRADCAST EXPRESS 221)

Our latest podcast episode, TRADCAST EXPRESS 221, has been published. Its main topic is the Traditional Latin Mass of the Roman Catholic rite, which has been in the news again recently on account of the Vatican consistory that took place Jan. 7-8, 2026, which was supposed to include discussion on the sacred liturgy.

In this new 26-minute episode, we consider an argument made by Bp. Athanasius Schneider, auxiliary Novus Ordo bishop in Astana, Kazakhstan, and we completely torpedo Dr. Taylor Marshall‘s recent (amusingly insistent) contention that the perpetuity clause of Pope St.… READ MORE

Vatican II Revisited:
Louie Verrecchio Dismantles the Conciliar Documents

This past December 8 marked the 60th anniversary of the closing of the Second Vatican Council (1962-65), that ominous assembly that is the magisterial ground zero for ‘modern Catholicism’ — an attempt to do the impossible and reconcile Catholicism to the secular modern world by means of an aggiornamento (“updating”) of the Catholic religion.

The result was a diabolical counterfeit Catholicism that embraces, in one way or another, many of the errors the Catholic Church sternly condemned until the death of Pope Pius XII in 1958: ecumenism, religious liberty, Sillonism, collegiality, subjectivism, liberalism, Modernism — the list is long and the errors are deadly.… READ MORE

Leo XIV’s Strange New Pastoral Staff: Bent Cross with Ascending Christ ‘No Longer Bound By the Nails of the Passion’!

(image: YouTube screenshot/Vatican News)

For the Feast of the Epiphany on Jan. 6, 2026, Robert Prevost — the false pope from Chicago who is now known as Leo XIV — showed up with a new pastoral staff, also called a crozier or ferula.

In a blog post reporting on the new ‘papal’ staff, Vatican News quotes an explanation given by the Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff:

The pastoral staff of Pope Leo XIV “presents Christ no longer bound by the nails of the Passion, but with His glorified body in the act of ascending to the Father.

Leo XIV Holds Extraordinary Consistory:
Semi-Trads Between Hope and Disappointment

In November of last year, it became known that ‘Pope’ Leo XIV (Robert Prevost) was convening an extraordinary consistory of cardinals for Jan. 7 and 8, 2026. The well-founded rumor was confirmed by the Vatican with an official announcement in December.

A consistory is essentially a meeting of the Pope with his cardinals. It is a very traditional convention in the Catholic Church, and one that has been retained by the Novus Ordo Sect (Vatican II Church):

A Consistory, which comes from the Latin “consistere” meaning “stand together,” is a formal meeting of the College of Cardinals.

Nationally-Televised Novus Ordo Mass in Germany
Features Slime Monster as Infant Jesus

Merry Christmas, Germany? More like April Fool’s….

Under its new ‘bishop’ Klaus Krämer (b. 1964), the uber-woke diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart, Germany, found a way to make Christmas not merely unappealing but downright repulsive: A nationally-televised ‘Christmas Mass’ on Dec. 24, 2025, included what was called a ‘living’ Christmas crib that was so repulsive that even non-religious people were outraged.

The abominable service was led by ‘Fr.’ Thomas Steiger (see photo here) and his female liturgical sidekick, pastoral associate Katharina Leser. The motto for this Christmas ‘Mass’ was: So viel Mensch war nie!READ MORE

What Has Happened to the Catholic Church?
An Updated Guide for Confused Catholics

Novus Ordo Watch is not receiving any kind of compensation for promoting this book (with the exception of one free copy).

Many people who sincerely desire to be good and loyal Roman Catholics are seriously troubled and confused today. Although the Second Vatican Council occurred more than 60 years ago, it has left a lasting impact. Vatican II, as the council is called for short, took place from 1962-65 and radically changed Catholic liturgy, the sacraments, and essential beliefs that have come down to us from Christ and the Apostles.… READ MORE

Altars Are For Sacrifice, Tables Are For Meals:
Behold 14 Dreadful Novus Ordo ‘Altars’

The following is a collage of fourteen table-like constructs that are used in Novus Ordo churches as ‘altars’ on which supposed Catholic priests perform what they call the ‘Eucharistic celebration’ — the Novus Ordo counterpart to the Holy Catholic Mass.

As the ‘New Mass’, as it is often called, is not the Sacrifice of Calvary but merely a Eucharistic meal service, it makes sense that the Neo-Modernists prefer to use tables, even though they may still call them ‘altars’ (to feign some continuity with the past) and indeed still use some real altars for their false Mass as well.… READ MORE

Don Bruno Unleashed:
Meet Italy’s Eccentric Wedding Singer Priest

His name is Rev. Bruno Maggioni. He is a well-known and popular Novus Ordo priest in northern Italy who is famous for his effusive dancing, clapping, and singing during the wedding ceremonies he officiates — even in church, even before the tabernacle, even while fully vested.

Long-time readers of this blog may remember that we covered ‘Fr.’ Bruno before, back in 2014. Eleven years later, at age 67, he’s still at it.

In fact, just three months ago he appeared on a program on Italy’s public TV channel RAI as the “priest who sings Ricchi e Poveri in church”.… READ MORE

Leo XIV Debuts New ‘Mass for Care of Creation’ at Castel Gandolfo, Calls for Ecological Conversion

With the approval of ‘Pope’ Leo XIV (Robert Prevost) and under the leadership of ‘Cardinal’ Arthur Roche, the Vatican’s so-called Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments has authorized a new votive Mass.

It is the so-called ‘Mass for the Care of Creation’ (Missa pro custodia creationis), for which the prayers and texts were published on July 3, 2025. They are being added to the section of the Novus Ordo Roman Missal (‘Sacramentary’ in the United States) that contains Mass formularies ‘for various needs and occasions’ (pro variis necessitatibus vel ad diversa):

Eager to try it out, Leo XIV announced that he would use it for the first time on July 9.… READ MORE

Why You’re Not Novus Ordo Anymore:
Liturgical ‘Resurrection Dance’ at Easter Vigil

As proof that the Second Vatican Council truly ushered in a ‘New Springtime’, a ‘New Pentecost’, and a ‘Great Renewal’, we offer a video clip of an extraordinary ‘Resurrection Dance’ performed at the hell-hole known as ‘Holy Spirit Parish’ at Newman Hall, part of the University of California at Berkeley.

Leaked Vatican Documents Undermine Francis’ Stated Rationale for Suppressing Traditional Latin Mass

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, the highly-credible Vatican reporter Diane Montagna published internal Vatican documents 0n her blog that purportedly demonstrate that ‘Pope’ Francis did not quite tell the (whole) truth when he claimed in an accompanying letter that his decision to issue the motu proprio letter Traditionis Custodes on July 16, 2021, was based on alarming feedback he had received from the world’s bishops. Traditionis Custodes is the Apostolic Letter which greatly limits the permitted use of the 1962 Missal (‘Traditional Latin Mass’) and cancels out Benedict XVI’s 2007 motu proprio letter Summorum Pontificum.… READ MORE

Flashback 1973:
A Novus Ordo Pentecost in the Church With the Red Dot

We’re currently in the Octave of Pentecost, so why not take a look at how Pentecost was celebrated in 1973 in the Ludwigskirche (Church of St. Louis) in Ibbenbüren, Germany? By that time, the Novus Ordo liturgical revolution was in full swing! The image above gives a preview.

Yes, we are talking about a ‘Roman Catholic’ church, part of the diocese of Münster. The church had been consecrated in 1952 for Catholic worship of the Most Holy Trinity. But then came ‘Saints’ John XXIII and Paul VI and brought us the Second Vatican Council along with its infamous ‘spirit’, which Germany was particularly enamored with, and which was anticipated in various ways there in the years before the council, especially architecturally.… READ MORE

Liverpool Cathedral in All its Glory

As we take a break from building our new topical page on ‘Pope Leo XIV’, it’s time for another post showcasing a horrendously ugly Novus Ordo church.

Today’s specimen is the metropolitan cathedral of Liverpool, England. Its official name is Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King, although among locals it is also known, more accurately, as “Paddy’s Wigwam”.

On the official cathedral web site we read: “The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King is a dramatic icon of faith, architecture, and human endeavour.… READ MORE

Ecumenical Carnival Liturgy with Mock Communion Service in Swiss Catholic Church

Willisau is a tiny town in Switzerland, and we wouldn’t be talking about it were it not for the annual so-called “Fools’ Mass” that takes place at the ‘Catholic’ Church of Saints Peter and Paul there during the carnival season. (To see our report on last year’s shenanigans, click here.)

Although called a Mass, it was actually an ecumenical ‘Liturgy of the Word’ plus a grotesque ‘communion’ service that makes the average Novus Ordo Liturgy look like a Solemn Pontifical High Mass offered by Pope St.… READ MORE
