LAST UPDATED 12-JUL-2019

The British paper The Telegraph is reporting that a 21-year-old hiker by the name of Marco Gusmini has died after a large distorted crucifix suddenly snapped and crushed him as he was enjoying a picnic with friends right underneath it. The Modernist crucifix had been created for the 1998 visit of the false “Pope” John Paul II to Brescia in Northern Italy, but has since been transferred to the nearby village of Cevo.… READ MORE

Comedy Hour with John Salza:

A Critical Review of his Interview on Papal Authority on Voice of Catholic Radio

It is really scary to see what is marketed as “traditional Catholicism” by the false traditionalist “Recognize-and-Resist” camp these days. Their stubborn unwillingness to concede that the Vatican II Church cannot be the Catholic Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that its “popes” cannot be true Catholic Popes, is driving them to twist and distort genuine traditional Catholic doctrine regarding the nature, authority, and infallibility of the papacy and the Church’s Magisterium.

On March 30, 2014, the Long-Island-based program Voice of Catholic Radio featured a 40-minute interview with “Resistance” apologist John Salza, conducted by host Joe Bagnoli (click here to listen or download).

In View of John Paul II’s Impending “Canonization”

Decision Time for The Remnant:

Is the Novus Ordo Church the True Church or a Counterfeit Church?

For decades the semi-traditionalists at The Remnant have been reporting on the apostasy of the Vatican II Church: its evil disciplines, its erroneous and heretical teachings, its impious liturgical laws, its scandalous clergy, its wicked practices. In short, they have been making the overall case that the Novus Ordo Church is the exact opposite of a trustworthy guide in matters of eternal salvation, that it is not the Ark of Salvation but the Ark of Damnation.… READ MORE

Calls Bergoglio a Theological “Train Wreck”…
John Vennari of “Catholic Family News”

John Vennari: “I would never allow Pope Francis
to Teach Religion to my Children”

Mr. John Vennari is the editor of the traditionalist but anti-sedevacantist (which we call “semi-traditionalist” or “neo-traditionalist”) monthly paper Catholic Family News. He is one of the few semi-traditionalists whose belief in the claim to the papacy of the leaders of the Novus Ordo Church since 1958 does not cause him to disregard or minimize the ugly facts about these men with regard to their theology and morals. (In this, he distinguishes himself from many of his colleagues, such as the Rev.… READ MORE

“No Rupture with the Past” Update:

John Courtney Murray’s Condemned Error became Doctrine at Vatican II

Not that more proof was needed, but it doesn’t hurt: Here is yet another admission by a modernist piece of literature that the doctrine on religious liberty proclaimed by the bogus “Second Vatican Council” in 1964 is in contradiction to the prior Catholic teaching on the confessional state. The snippet above is taken from p. 333 of the book The Diocesan Seminary in the United States: A History from the 1780s to the Present by Joseph M. White (Notre Dame, IN: University of Notre Dame Press, 1989).… READ MORE

The Chair Is Still Empty:
A Response to John Salza on the Alleged “Errors of Sedevacantism”

PART 1

On July 15, 2010, The Remnant published an article by Milwaukee-based Mr. John Salza, J.D., critiquing the theological position known as sedevacantism (from the Latin sede vacante, “the chair being empty”), which basically holds that the claimants to the papal throne after the death of Pope Pius XII on October 9, 1958, are illegitimate and not true Popes at all, and that the church of which John XXIII, Paul VI, John Paul I, John Paul II, and Benedict XVI have been the heads is not the Catholic Church of our Lord Jesus Christ but a modernist institution masquerading as the Catholic Church, with the ultimate aim to eradicate true, traditional Catholicism from the face of the earth in order to lead souls to hell.… READ MORE

The Limits of Papal Power: Contrasting Traditional Catholic Teaching with the Recognize-and-Resist Distortion

Detail taken from “Homage by Catholics to Pope Pius IX” by Wilhelmus Petrus van Geldorp (1871)

The semi-traditionalist pundits of our day love to pontificate (pardon the pun) on the limits of the Papacy. The Pope can’t just do whatever he pleases, they (rightly) point out and thereby (wrongly) feel vindicated in their theologically disastrous position of recognizing Jorge Bergoglio as Pope (Francis), while nevertheless resisting his magisterium, his acts of governance, his canonizations, and his liturgical prescriptions where they believe these deviate from what he ought to be teaching and legislating.… READ MORE

Lent in the Novus Ordo religion…

Novus Ordo Priest Denies Christ’s Atonement: ‘Jesus Did Not Die to Appease an Angry God’

It’s Lent, even in the Vatican II religion. While it is a noble thing to do without such things as candy and entertainment during this sacred season of penance, a lot would be accomplished if Novus Ordo presbyters could at least give up heresy for Lent.

Not so the Rev. Terrance W. Klein, pictured above. A former associate professor of theology at Fordham University, he is the author of the book Vanity Faith: Searching for Spirituality among the Stars (2009) and now serves at a parish in Ellinwood, Kansas, part of the diocese of Dodge City.… READ MORE

Francis Wants Fraternity of St Peter (FSSP) to Concelebrate Annual Novus Ordo Chrism Mass

On Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, the Superior General of the Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP), accompanied by French district superior and the German seminary rector, met with ‘Pope’ Francis (Jorge Bergoglio) for a private audience in the Vatican. A gallery of photos of the visit is available here.

The FSSP was established in 1988, facilitated by ‘Pope’ John Paul II, for those members of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) who wanted to continue “to celebrate Divine Worship according to the guidelines of immemorial tradition” but disassociate from the SSPX after the unlawful episcopal consecrations of Abp.… READ MORE

Eccentric recognize-and-resist theologian…

The Fanciful Theology of Fr. Gregory Hesse (1953-2006):
Some Worthwhile Observations

This article was updated on Feb. 23, 2024, replacing incorrect documentation with the proper (and even stronger) evidence. Please excuse the oversight.

The Austrian ‘Fr.’ Gregorius D. Hesse (1953-2006) was a one-of-a-kind recognize-and-resist traditionalist from Vienna. Somehow he always managed to sound convincing while he dished out unconventional theological ideas that were usually quite unique to him. He and his devoted cheerleaders considered his theology to be exemplary ‘traditional Catholicism’, of course, and his fan base ate it up (recent case in point: Kennedy Hall).… READ MORE

The Persecution and ‘Death’ of the Church:
The Testimony of Scripture and Tradition

Researched and Explained by
Cardinal Henry Edward Manning (1808-1892)

This is a slightly revised version of an article posted on this web site in 2015.

As we all suffer through these most distressing times in which confusion and chaos reign among all who seek to be genuine Catholics, members of the only true religion established by God, it is helpful and important to reflect on the fact that the situation we find ourselves in today — no (known) valid Pope since 1958, and no apparent Catholic bishop left with ordinary jurisdiction, while a counterfeit institution masquerades as the Catholic Church, spreading heresy, immorality, and impiety — was foretold in Holy Scripture and Sacred Tradition.… READ MORE

The length of the recording is 2 hours 43 minutes. The exchange must have taken place around 1995. The participants were Bp. Clarence Kelly and Fr. William Jenkins for the SSPV, versus Fr.’READ MORE

Francis endorses Teilhard de Chardin’s ‘Mass on the World’

His true god was evolution: the French Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, S.J.

On his recent blather tour in Mongolia (Aug. 31 – Sep. 4, 2023), the Argentinian apostate Jorge Bergoglio (‘Pope Francis’) offered some impromptu remarks after presiding over the Novus Ordo worship service (incorrectly termed ‘Holy Mass’) in the capital of Ulaanbaatar on Sep. 3. He took the opportunity to speak favorably of the notorious French Jesuit Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955) and his infamous ‘Mass on the World’, written in 1923:

The Mass is itself a way of giving thanks: “Eucharistía”.
