Response to a piece of sophistry…

Ferrara’s Fatal Flaw on Sedevacantism

Even in the 21st century, basic English reading comprehension still seems to be a challenge for some.

In installment no. 1248 of his Fatima Perspectives column, self-appointed “papal” corrector and professional rhetorician Christopher A. Ferrara says that sedevacantists “never seem to notice the fatal flaw in their argument.” Quoting from a sede source he leaves curiously unidentified — this one –, the retired lawyer goes on to explain:

Let this quotation from a “popular” sedevacantist website suffice for a demonstration:

“By saying Francis is Pope but then refusing his magisterium, the would-be traditionalists in the Vatican II Church are doing untold damage to the traditional Catholic doctrine of the Papacy because the papal office was instituted as the sure norm of orthodoxy at every point in time in Church history, guaranteed by Christ Himself.

Lefebvrist leadership misleads souls again…

Better to be Wrong with the Pope – or Right with Tradition against Him?

Response to a recent SSPX Article

On March 10, the official news and communications web site of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX), founded by Abp. Marcel Lefebvre in 1970, posted a brief article entitled, “Is It Preferable to Be Wrong with the Pope or to Be Right with Tradition against Him?” Predictably, what they offered as argumentation in support of their position is nothing short of a theological disaster.

Let’s go ahead and dissect their little propaganda piece:

This is an objection that is often made to “Tradition”: a Catholic must be in complete union with the pope.

We are happy to announce the release of a massive new study of the Second Vatican Council (1962-65) that includes its history, its making-of, its main players, its errors, and its disastrous consequences: Two sedevacantist priests — Fr. Francisco Radecki and Fr. Dominic Radecki — have just published an 809-page work telling the inside story of the apostate robber synod that has brought about an unprecedented loss of Faith.… READ MORE

Real Catholic teaching vs. semi-trad sophistry…

Would God permit a Non-Catholic Pope?
Response to Peter Kwasniewski

As we’ve pointed out before, Dr. Peter Kwasniewski, a former college theology professor now working as a freelance writer and lecturer, has become one of the preferred go-to guys for the semi-trads and conservative Novus Ordos when it comes to making the case for accepting Francis as Pope but refusing to accept practically anything he believes or teaches. Never mind supplying evidence for such a silly and absurd position — what counts is only the reiteration of the desired pre-conceived conclusion that it be so.… READ MORE

A New Logo for Novus Ordo Watch

No doubt you’ve noticed it: Novus Ordo Watch has begun using a new logo, displayed above.

Many people will be asking themselves: why? Was the old logo — the sede vacante coat of arms — not good enough? Was it not, in fact, the best possible emblem to use for a sedevacantist apostolate?

Quite simply, there were two main problems with the old logo.

First, it wasn’t our own creation but the work of an artist who licensed his work under a creative commons license and later released it into the public domain.… READ MORE

Apostasy in Abu Dhabi:
Francis says God wills Diversity of Religions

Embed from Getty Images

“Pope” Francis is currently visiting the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a very brief trip that will conclude tomorrow, Feb. 5. The main objective of the visit has been to attend an interreligious meeting on “human brotherhood” at The Founder’s Memorial in the capital of Abu Dhabi and sign a joint declaration with the Grand Imam there. This Francis did today.

Before he took part in the interfaith conference, however, the Argentinian pseudo-pope paid a visit to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and held a closed-door meeting with the members of the Muslim Council of Elders in the Grand Mosque of Sheik Zayed.… READ MORE

Why those troubles do point to Sedevacantism…

Peter Kwasniewski and “the Troubles of this Pontificate”:
A Sedevacantist Reply

As of late, more and more Novus Ordo and semi-trad publications have felt the need to write something about — that is, something againstSedevacantism. That’s a good sign, since it shows that the truth about the nature of the Vatican II Sect and its anti-Catholic hierarchy is making inroads like never before. Were it not so, the Novus Ordo pundits and commentators would not give this issue the time of day.

And no wonder: Never since the Modernists took over the Vatican in 1958 has the chaos been greater than today under the man who styles himself “Pope Francis” — Jorge Bergoglio — a mere layman, an Argentine Jesuit without even so much as a valid diaconate ordination.… READ MORE

In case you missed our initial announcement on November 12: We have published another full-length episode of our popular TRADCAST podcast program. As always, it is loaded with real traditional Catholicism, hard-hitting refutations of various errors, and razor-sharp analysis. Our content is typically challenging but is always delivered with a relieving touch of humor.

TRADCAST 023 consists of two separate segments. In the first, we look at how Sedevacantists are truly the “last Catholics”, those who believe exactly what was believed and taught until Pope Pius XII died and refused to change their religion afterwards.… READ MORE

Novus Ordo priest punished for “heresy and schism”…

Francis Critic “Fr.” Alessandro Minutella declared Excommunicated

The Archlayman of Palermo has announced that one of the Novus Ordo priests in his diocese, the 45-year-old “Fr.” Alessandro Minutella, has excommunicated himself for the crimes of heresy and schism. The statement put out by the Archdiocese of Palermo to that effect was quickly reported on Vatican News and in English reads as follows:

On November 13, 2018, Father Alessandro Maria Minutella was notified of the Decree of August 15, 2018 (Prot. No. 046/18) by which the Archbishop Corrado Lorefice DECLARES the excommunications latae sententiae, which the same priest has incurred for the crime of heresy and for the crime of schism, as required by canon law (cf.

Missing the Forest for the Trees:

The Remnant on Schism and Sedevacantism

The pseudo-traditionalist flagship publication The Remnant has once again graced the world with the full depth of its theological wisdom. This biweekly American newspaper promotes what is perhaps best called a “pop traditionalism”, a distortion of traditional Catholicism that emphasizes certain popular elements or emotionally satisfying aspects — such as the Latin Mass, traditional practices, and rejection of whacky Novus Ordo ideas — but without any commitment to (or even regard for) sound Catholic theology, knowledge of which would have to be acquired through laborious effort and might lead to undesirable consequences.… READ MORE

Vatican Synod proposes “Certification Systems” for Web Sites to counter “Fake News”

You have to admit: The Modernists in Vatican City have a sense of humor. The final document of their oh-so-important “Youth Synod”, which has happily been released only in Italian so far, includes the following paragraph (translation by Rorate Caeli):

146. The Synod hopes that in the Church appropriate official bodies for digital culture and evangelization are established at appropriate levels, which, with the indispensable contribution of young people, promote ecclesial action and reflection in this environment. Among their functions, in addition to promoting the exchange and dissemination of good practices at a personal and community level, and to develop adequate tools for digital education and evangelization, could also a [sic] manage certification systems of Catholic sites, to counter the spread of fake news regarding the Church, and looking for ways to persuade public authorities to promote increasingly stringent policies and tools for the protection of minors on the web.

How Recognize-and-Resist Traditionalism
neutralizes the Catholic Faith

by Francis del Sarto

On May 18, 2018, during his Rome Life Forum keynote address at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (the Angelicum) in Rome, “Cardinal” Raymond Burke declared: “We cannot fail to observe that the situation which Pope Pius XI described in 1925 has only grown worse in our time, and attempts ever more to infiltrate the life of the Church herself and to corrupt the Bride of Christ by an apostasy from the Apostolic Faith” (see video recording, 12:51ff.… READ MORE

Montini now a “saint” in the Vatican II Church…

A Tribute to “Saint” Paul VI

ZUMA Press, Inc. / Alamy Stock Photo

It has finally happened: The apostate Vatican II Sect has officially declared yet another one of its false popes to be a “saint of the Catholic Church.” This time, it was Bp. Giovanni Battista Montini, “Pope” Paul VI (1897-1978). He was “canonized” in St. Peter’s Square today, Oct. 14, together with six others, including the social activist “Abp.” Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdamez (1917-1980) of San Salvador, El Salvador.

The following two videos show, first, a brief summary of today’s event in the Vatican and then the full canonization ceremony presided over by “Pope” Francis:

The formula which Francis used to “canonize” Montini and the others is the following (in Latin):

For the honour of the Blessed Trinity, the exaltation of the Catholic faith and the increase of the Christian life, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, and our own, after due deliberation and frequent prayer for divine assistance, and having sought the counsel of many of our brother Bishops, we declare and define Blessed Paul VI, Oscar Arnulfo Romero Galdámez, Francis Spinelli, Vincent Romano, Mary Catherine Kasper, Nazaria Ignacia of Saint Teresa of Jesus March Mesa and Nunzio Sulprizio to be Saints and we enroll them among the Saints, decreeing that they are to be venerated as such by the whole Church.
