Leo XIV to Visit Assisi for 40th Anniversary of Interreligious Prayer Meeting
October 27 of this year marks the 40th anniversary of the infamous first interreligious ‘World Day of Prayer for Peace’ meeting hosted by Bishop Karol Wojtyla, otherwise known as ‘Pope’ (and now ‘Saint’) John Paul II, in Assisi, Italy.
On that day in 1986, representatives of the world’s major religions came together, under the leadership of the man almost everyone thought was the Pope of the Catholic Church, to pray for world peace.
