Salacious Dance Crew opens “Ladder to Heaven” Installation in Vienna Cathedral

The notorious “Cardinal” Christoph Schönborn, O.P., and his sidekick “Fr.” Anton Faber have once again found a way to desecrate St. Stephen’s Cathedral in the Austrian capital of Vienna under the guise of “art”.

Never mind that during the Lenten season there was installed, once again, an oversized purple sweater to cover the otherwise unimpeded view of the beautiful traditional sanctuary art. That’s simply small potatoes compared to what else just went on in the gorgeous building that was once consecrated exclusively to the worship of the Most Holy Trinity.

Under the name of Himmelsleiter (“ladder to heaven”), two neon ladders were installed during Holy Week, one inside the cathedral and one outside on one of the spires. These ladders, which are made of golden fluorescent tubing, are supposed to represent a “stairway to heaven” and will remain in place throughout Paschaltide. According to the Austrian public broadcast service ORF, the project got started at the encouragement of “Fr.” Faber. Naturally!

Do you feel spiritually recharged already?

Didn’t think so. But it gets worse.

To give the installation an official and solemn opening, Schönborn and Faber arranged for a smutty theatrical dance performance to be held inside the cathedral: A total of 32 dancers, male and female, swirled around the nave of the church, wearing skin-tight clothing that was also light-colored, which made them appear nude without actually being nude (this is reminiscent of the abomination in Osnabruck cathedral in 2014).

Either way, the contours of the human body were clearly on display, and for that reason we will not embed the video here. Those who “must” see it can find it on YouTube. Instead, we are presenting a few select screenshots from the video that don’t show too much — although they certainly do show enough:

The choreography was put together by one Nadja Puttner, who runs the dance-theater group Unicorn Art. Ironically, it bore the title “33 Virtues” (33 Tugenden). Spoiler alert: The virtue of purity was not among them.

The neon ladder “art” is the work of one Billi Thanner (b. 1972). She can be seen at the end of the choreography, as the 33rd dancer representing the “virtue of freedom”:

On Thanner’s Facebook page — we won’t link it here — one can find more information about her, including some obscene pictures that relate to her other “projects”.

On her personal web site she has published her curriculum vitae (PDF here), which mentions among her past projects and performances some of a sexual/obscene nature, one called (translated from German) “Wedding and in the end I will marry my art” (yes, that is what it’s called) and one named “Since I’ve been dead I’ve been able to do whatever I want”. Thanner describes herself as a “protagonist of a new generation of contemporary, up-to-date activism” and adds: “Neo-Activism equals Interactionism.”

No doubt, this is what the “Catholic Church” in Vienna needs. One can see why it would appeal to Toni Faber and his boss.

On Apr. 7, the Archdiocese of Vienna put out a news report on the whole Himmelsleiter circus. It notes how enthusiastically the entire idiocy was received by the Modernists occupying the Viennese cathedral administration: “Faber pointed out that Thanner’s ladder to heaven is the first art project at St. Stephen’s that received the unanimous approbation of the twelve-member cathedral chapter in addition to that of the archbishop of Vienna, Cardinal Christoph Schonborn” (our translation).

Humanly speaking, these people are beyond help, especially Faber and Schonborn, who have long made St. Stephen’s Cathedral the victim of their wicked and abominable contempt for Catholicism. Here is a small sample:

For those who may not be aware, the Dominican Schönborn is considered a conservative in the Vatican II Church. He was heavily involved in the drafting of the official Catechism of the Conciliar Cult that was published in the 1990s. To this man the following words of our Blessed Lord seem applicable: “Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you go round about the sea and the land to make one proselyte; and when he is made, you make him the child of hell twofold more than yourselves” (Mt 23:15).

The following brief video clip shows the main characters involved in this ladder project, including Toni Faber and Billi Thanner, on site at the cathedral. Not to worry — there are no immodest or impure images in this clip:

At the very end, “Fr.” Faber exhorts people to “use this sign” of the ladder to heaven in order to “grow” since, as he adds, “we all want to go to heaven together.”

(Please be careful as your head hits the desk.)

If these characters are truly interested in going to Heaven, we suggest they start focusing on the path that was revealed by the Son of God 2,000 years ago. It is the road of the commandments: “…if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments” (Mt 19:17). It is the royal Way of the Cross: “And whosoever doth not carry his cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple” (Lk 14:27). It is the “straight and narrow” path: “How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life: and few there are that find it!” (Mt 7:14). It is a road that cannot be trodden without Faith: “But without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb 11:6).

The unpopular truth is that their “ladder to heaven” abomination is in reality… a highway to hell.
