After the death of Jorge Bergoglio (‘Pope Francis’) on Apr. 21, the conclave to choose his successor ended on May 8 after only four ballots, and Robert F. Prevost stepped onto the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica as ‘Pope Leo XIV’.
