Don’t get him started!

Now in Print: The Collected Writings of Fr. Anthony Cekada (RIP), 1979-2019

Anyone who researches Sedevacantism will quickly com across the name of Father Anthony Cekada (1951-2020), who was a pioneer in the movement and one of its most prolific defenders.

Ordained by Abp. Marcel Lefebvre for the Society of St. Pius X in 1977, Fr. Cekada was one of “The Nine” who were famously expelled by the archbishop in 1983, along with other well-known names such as Fathers Donald Sanborn, William Jenkins, Daniel Dolan, Clarence Kelly, and others. (For an informative and entertaining re-telling of that story, this free podcast features three of the Nine recalling the events leading to their expulsion.)

As a seminary professor with a thorough knowledge of Latin, Fr. Cekada was well-versed in the manuals of Sacred Theology, including canon law, and he was also a gifted church musician. Throughout the years, he published countless articles, blog posts, and booklets. Among his most valuable contributions are an English translation of the famous 1969 so-called “Ottaviani Intervention”, as well as a thoroughly-researched and documented book exposing the Novus Ordo Missae (“New Mass”) of Paul VI:

Now his collected works are available under the title of his signature quip, Don’t Get Me Started!, issued in three paperback volumes.

The first volume, subtitled “Road to Sedevacantism”, covers the writing period of 1979 through 1998:

The second volume, subtitled “The Controversialist”, covers the years of 2000 through 2008:

The third volume, subtitled “Whatever”, contains all the posts of his Quidlibet blog, from 2007 to 2019. The Latin word quidlibet essentially means “whatever” and is here used in the sense of a miscellany of different topics:

All three volumes can be purchased (individually or as a set) directly from St. Gertrude the Great church, where Fr. Cekada was assistant pastor for many years:

For a higher price, the first two of the three volumes are also available from Amazon (Novus Ordo Watch earns a small commission on purchases made through these Amazon links):

Fr. Cekada died on Sep. 11, 2020, in West Chester, Ohio. Please pray for the repose of his soul. The true Catholic cause owes him a lot.

May he rest in peace.
