Wake Up and Smell the Heresy…
First Major Novus Ordo Blog asks:
“Is Pope Francis a Modernist?”

“I have little doubt that the title to this piece pretty much guarantees that the majority of Cotton Candy Catholics won’t even bother to read it. You see, for those who prefer to dwell in that fairy tale version of Catholicland wherein nary a crisis endures, the very question alone is like a serial killer making a cameo appearance in a child’s bedtime story.
Even so, it is an important, and eminently fair question for well-grounded Catholics to ask nonetheless.
This, however, raises yet another crucially important question, to whom shall we turn for an answer?
I can think of no more qualified authority than Pope St. Pius X and his magnificent Encyclical, Pascendi Dominici Gregis.
We’ll begin with a look at the more “modernistic” public statements and acts of Pope Francis, and then from there, we will measure them against the timeless wisdom of Pope St. Pius X.

Let’s recap:
- From his very first day as Roman Pontiff, Pope Francis demonstrated that he is at great pains to avoid in any way offending the practitioners of the world’s many false religions, as if their version of “truth” is as of much dignity before the Lord as that which He entrusted to His Church.
- In addressing Muslims, who worship a false god, plainly rejecting Our Lord Jesus Christ, Pope Francis encouraged them to persist in their erroneous practices, and even went so far as to suggest that such would be blessed by the Lord whom he represents as Vicar.
- Pope Francis has made clear his belief that there is no need to call others to convert to the one true faith as it can be found in the Holy Catholic Church alone.
- Pope Francis maintains that religious diversity, with all of its contradictory and irreconcilable doctrines, is a gift to be celebrated. Though he stopped short of explicitly proclaiming from whence such “gifts” are bestowed, one can only presume that he imagines that these false religions spring from God Himself!
Fortunately, even though Pope St. Pius X is a blessed member of the Church Triumphant, still he is able to evaluate and comment upon this situation through the timeless wisdom imparted in Pascendi Dominici Gregis.
Following is but a small sampling of what this great Pontiff, whose papacy was dedicated to “restoring all things in Christ,” has to say:
And with what right will Modernists deny the truth of an experience affirmed by a follower of Islam? With what right can they claim true experiences for Catholics alone? Indeed Modernists do not deny but actually admit, some confusedly, others in the most open manner, that all religions are true. That they cannot feel otherwise is clear. For on what ground, according to their theories, could falsity be predicated of any religion whatsoever? … For they heap such praise and bestow such public honour on the teachers of these errors [false religions] as to give rise to the belief that their admiration is not meant merely for the persons, who are perhaps not devoid of a certain merit, but rather for the errors which these persons openly profess and which they do all in their power to propagate.
So, back to our question: Is Pope Francis a modernist?
The answer, according not to me, but to Pope St. Pius X, is yes.”
Novus Ordo Watch Commentary:
This is truly remarkable! Louie Verrecchio, the owner of the Harvesting the Fruit site, is the first Novus Ordo blogger that we are aware of to finally raise the question whether Francis is not a Catholic but a Modernist. Mr. Verrecchio is to be commended for this courageous step and for his clear attempt to answer this question reasonably, objectively, and dispassionately. Yes, it is a courageous step, because in the Vatican II Church, speaking the Truth is an act of heroism.
People are starting to wake up. They’ve begun asking the right questions. Under Francis, the apostasy has gotten turbo-charged, and those who still have a love of the truth and some common sense left in them are beginning to realize that what they’re hearing from their favorite Novus Ordo apologists in defense of Francis is a bunch of hogwash. (At this point, even Michael Voris has uttered the words: “Is the Pope a heretic?” Unfortunately, he posed this question to Michael Matt, not exactly someone from whom you’re going to get a well-reasoned answer. See Mic’d Up of Sep. 25, 2013.)
Though many “conservative” top dogs in the New Church are still in denial, it is becoming more evident with each passing day that Francis wishes to return to the dreadful days of Paul VI (1963-78). While The Remnant & Co. seem ready to recycle all the old arguments from those times, of how what the “Pope” said really isn’t heresy or why even if it is, it still doesn’t matter and we just need to pray for a future “restoration”, it seems that this time around, more and more good-willed and truth-loving Novus Ordos are simply not going to buy it. After the horrendous 26-year reign of John Paul II, they were willing to give it another shot with Benedict XVI, who appeared — thanks to the spin of the Semi-Traditionalists at The Remnant, Catholic Family News, the Fatima Center, etc. — to be trying to engage in a “restoration of Tradition” (an illusion which we refuted here), and so they had convinced themselves that maybe all would be well after all, if they could only hang in there long enough.
But now Benedict’s reign is over, and the “cardinals” elected the mega-Modernist from Buenos Aires. And within just six months, it seems to them as if Benedict’s “papacy” had never even happened. They’re back to square one. It’s Paul VI all over again, and with the Second Vatican Council now being left in the more and more distant past, it is becoming crystal-clear that every successor to Francis — like Francis himself — is inevitably going to be a child of the council. The Semi-Traditionalists’ false solution of “trying to reverse course” — as though the True Church could ever enter the wrong course — and going back to before Vatican II is showing itself to be quite absurd from a new angle now, namely, the angle that no one will soon even remember the days of how things used to be before the council. Every “bishop”, every “cardinal,” will have been indoctrinated in the errors of the Nouvelle Theologie, the New Catechism, Vatican II, and the “magisterium” of the Conciliar antipopes. Welcome to the future!
What to do now? Will people once again return to the 1970s, so to speak, and do the “resistance” thing all over again? No doubt, many will. But this time around, many will not. They will not because unlike in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, there is now a wealth of information available through the internet that wasn’t accessible back then. People no longer need The Remnant & Co. to tell them what to think — they can simply look it all up themselves and figure out what the right conclusion is. They can read and listen to different viewpoints, different solutions offered, different arguments made. They can read and discuss with others the arguments for sedevacantism, as opposed to just reading what people like Michael Matt, Chris Ferrara, John Vennari, John Salza, or “Fr.” Nicholas Gruner think about the matter.
Unlike in the past, when Antipopes Benedict XVI or John Paul II stated something liberal, Modernistic, or otherwise heretical or favorable to heretics, which people were able to just ignore or brush off, this time things are different. Francis, you see, made the mistake not simply of uttering Modernist claptrap (which wouldn’t be anything new), but of attacking the zeal and dedication of Pro-Life activists and those fighting against homosexuality. This is something they cannot ignore. He hit them where it hurts. As they stand in the rain in front of that abortuary, praying the Rosary and trying to convince those about to enter that they mustn’t, as they spend hours and hours selflessly trying to serve Christ by fighting the greatest moral atrocity in our times, the local abortionist can now simply hold up a quote from “Pope” Francis and laugh himself silly.
With Francis’ “change of emphasis”, you can also expect that even more Novus Ordo bishops will refuse to support their own pro-lifers and others fighting the immorality of secular culture. In effect, those in the Novus Ordo who’ve been trying to fight the Culture of Death with its unceasing baby-killing and moral perversion at every level, will no longer have “the Pope’s backing.” And here it won’t matter whether this is Francis’ real position or merely society’s perception of it.
The Novus Ordo world is in chaos. One has to chuckle, in fact, when reviewing recent blog posts, articles, and tweets from the usual “conservative” sources, because so many of them begin with “Did Pope Francis really…?” and similar wording. No doubt, the masses have to be pacified once more, lest they catch on to the Modernist apostasy in the New Church.
So, yes, more and more people trying to be faithful Catholics are starting to see what is really going on. Francis is so blatantly and bluntly Modernistic that the typical arguments from the usual pundits are simply no longer cutting it, as can be seen with the fallout from Bergoglio’s ominous interview with “Fr.” Antonio Spadaro. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
Confirming this assessment is the non-sedevacantist blogger Mundabor, who writes in a recent post:
Please don’t insult your intelligence thinking Francis doesn’t know what will make world headlines and what will not go past Catholic blogs and magazines, and pro-life sites. It’s not difficult to arrange things so that the press will pick only what we want. Ask every politician. Or every bishop.
Alas, this time it did not work as expected; true, the cretins would have been appeased if Francis had said “the sky is blue”; but as of last Friday the critics knew Francis had thrown away the mask, and have reacted accordingly. Go around the comments on all major blogs and magazines and read the rage of true Catholics: people with fear of the Lord and belief in Christ, and who have decided that enough [is] enough. More in general, just follow the ‘Catholic Answers’ controversy. A lot of people have had enough, and they start saying it. In a way, Francis’ antics are having the effect of waking up some people who were either asleep or silent. No [B.S.] anymore for us, they say, thank you very much.

We gladly take our hats off to all those in the Novus Ordo who are willing to call a spade a spade, like Mundabor and Louie Verrecchio. It is the spin doctor “apologists” for the New Church (headed by people like “Fr.” Zuhlsdorf) that deserve to be castigated, but those who, however misled and confused on certain issues they may otherwise be, have the guts to face reality head-on and do not try to put a rose-colored veneer over it, deserve our praise and encouragement.
It is one thing to disagree on how certain difficulties can be solved, or what the nature of the current situation really is, and these things can be discussed and argued about. However, what must absolutely be insisted upon at all times of the discussion is the honesty, sincerity, humility, and good-will to admit what is right before one’s very eyes. As someone once put it, “Deal with reality, or it will deal with thee.”
Speaking of reality, there is no doubt whatsoever that Francis is truly a Modernist, or perhaps he is more properly called a Neo-Modernist. Now, we can argue about what follows from this, but for goodness’ sake, don’t deny he is a Modernist. Pope St. Pius X called Modernists the “most pernicious of all the enemies of the Church”, and he gave us three clear indicators by which we can identify them: by what they believe, by how they speak, and by what they do. The Holy Father said:
Although they express their astonishment that We should number them amongst the enemies of the Church, no one will be reasonably surprised that We should do so, if, leaving out of account the internal disposition of the soul, of which God alone is the Judge, he considers their tenets, their manner of speech, and their action. Nor indeed would he be wrong in regarding them as the most pernicious of all the adversaries of the Church. For, as We have said, they put into operation their designs for her undoing, not from without but from within. Hence, the danger is present almost in the very veins and heart of the Church, whose injury is the more certain from the very fact that their knowledge of her is more intimate. Moreover, they lay the ax not to the branches and shoots, but to the very root, that is, to the faith and its deepest fibers. And once having struck at this root of immortality, they proceed to diffuse poison through the whole tree, so that there is no part of Catholic truth which they leave untouched, none that they do not strive to corrupt. Further, none is more skillful, none more astute than they, in the employment of a thousand noxious devices; for they play the double part of rationalist and Catholic, and this so craftily that they easily lead the unwary into error; and as audacity is their chief characteristic, there is no conclusion of any kind from which they shrink or which they do not thrust forward with pertinacity and assurance…. and relying upon a false conscience, they attempt to ascribe to a love of truth that which is in reality the result of pride and obstinacy.

The poison of Modernism has been disseminated — this will shock you — by Modernists. The systematic dismantling of the Catholic religion since the death of Pope Pius XII on October 9, 1958, is the ultimate “proof in the pudding” that the Vatican II religion is Modernistic and its members, most specifically its heads, are not Catholics but Modernists.
With Bergoglio as the current Modernist Antipope, it seems that Almighty God is making it woefully obvious — now more than ever — to all of good will that the “Popes” in Rome since 1958 have not been true Vicars of Christ but noxious impostors, and the religion they have created that officially came out of the Second Vatican Council, is not and cannot be Roman Catholicism but its very antithesis, which has caused greater damage to the Catholic Church than any of the prior persecutions and heresies ever did. What the forces of hell could not accomplish in 1,900 years, the Vatican II Church has achieved in just a few decades.
May more and more people continue to wake up and smell the Modernist stench that has been emanating from Rome since the False Pope John XXIII took over the Vatican on October 28, 1958. May more and more people receive and act on these extraordinary graces God is granting these days so that they see there is now a “Church of Darkness” in Rome that is occupying the Catholic structures and eclipsing the True Church from view, as foretold by Our Lady at La Salette in 1846.
