Humanity has a new savior!

Apostate adrift: Francis says Fraternity is “Anchor of Salvation for Humanity”

To mark the second anniversary of the incredibly important International Day of Human Fraternity proclaimed by the United Nations, the Argentinian apostate Jorge Bergoglio (“Pope Francis”) released a video message on Feb. 4, 2022.

Before we critique the contents of this latest Bergoglian drivel, let’s first look at the larger context in which it appeared: the interreligious “human fraternity” project started by Francis and Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb.

The Egyptian Al-Tayeb is the grand imam of Al-Azhar University in Cairo and, in addition to Bergoglio, the other signatory to the apostate Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together, which the two formally ratified at Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., on Feb. 4, 2019.

As we’ve noted in prior posts, this Document contains the egregious heresy that God Almighty desires there to be a diversity of religions in the same way as He desires there to be a diversity of languages, races, colors, and so on:

Just how tolerant of other religions the Sunni Muslim Al-Tayeb actually is, however, is something that has recently been called into question:

Facilitating the spread and implementation of the Document on Human Fraternity is the self-appointed task of the so-called “Higher Committee of Human Fraternity”, a motley band of non-Catholics united in the promotion of Naturalism:

It is not revealed what this “Higher Committee” is supposedly higher than; but regardless, one would hate to see what a lower such committee might look like.

This colorful group of “spiritual leaders” is also behind the construction of a multi-religious site known as the “Abrahamic Family House” in Abu Dhabi, by the way. The demonic project is scheduled to finish some time this year. Vatican News can’t wait:

This “family house” is a site that features a church, a mosque, and a synagogue sharing one and the same foundation. According to the Vatican News report, it is “meant to be a beacon of understanding and peaceful coexistence, inspired by the Document on Human Fraternity.”

That such a thing is contrary to traditional Catholic doctrine hardly needs mention: “The Church, indeed, deems it unlawful to place the various forms of divine worship on the same footing as the true religion…”, Pope Leo XIII teaches in his encyclical Immortale Dei (n. 36), and goes on to explain that the recognition of other religions could be tolerated at best to prevent a greater evil. The “Abrahamic Family House”, however, is not something Francis and his post-Catholic Vatican are tacitly tolerating — they are among its most enthusiastic supporters!

The project is deceptively called “Abrahamic” because all three religions — Christianity, Islam, and Judaism — claim Abraham as their religious father and are therefore, allegedly, one big Abrahamic family. The fact that obviously only one of these three can possibly be the true spiritual heir to Abraham — while the others are necessarily impostors — is ignored, of course.

The following clip is a virtual model of what the site will look like after completion:

It is quite evident that everything about this “Abrahamic Family House” practically “screams” religious egalitarianism (=these religions are equal) and consequently also religious indifferentism (=it doesn’t matter which of these religions one embraces). Both of these monstrous ideas are wholly repugnant to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church.

Now We consider another abundant source of the evils with which the Church is afflicted at present: indifferentism. This perverse opinion is spread on all sides by the fraud of the wicked who claim that it is possible to obtain the eternal salvation of the soul by the profession of any kind of religion, as long as morality is maintained. Surely, in so clear a matter, you will drive this deadly error far from the people committed to your care. With the admonition of the apostle that “there is one God, one faith, one baptism” [Eph 4:5] may those fear who contrive the notion that the safe harbor of salvation is open to persons of any religion whatever. They should consider the testimony of Christ Himself that “those who are not with Christ are against Him” [Lk 11:23], and that they disperse unhappily who do not gather with Him. Therefore “without a doubt, they will perish forever, unless they hold the Catholic faith whole and inviolate” [Athanasian Creed]. Let them hear Jerome who, while the Church was torn into three parts by schism, tells us that whenever someone tried to persuade him to join his group he always exclaimed: “He who is for the See of Peter is for me” [St. Jerome, Epistle 57]. A schismatic flatters himself falsely if he asserts that he, too, has been washed in the waters of regeneration. Indeed Augustine would reply to such a man: “The branch has the same form when it has been cut off from the vine; but of what profit for it is the form, if it does not live from the root?” [St. Augustine, in psalm. contra part. Donat.]

(Pope Gregory XVI, Encyclical Mirari Vos, n. 13; bold and italics given.)

At the foundation of this whole “Abrahamic religions” project — as if Abraham could be the true father of three different religions — rests the great lie that all three religions believe in and worship the same true God. Although individual Muslims or Jews may, due to innocent ignorance or error beyond their control, worship the true God subjectively (that is, have the subjective intention of directing their worship to the Creator of the world), nevertheless, objectively speaking, Islam and Talmudic Judaism reject the dogma of the Holy Trinity and for that reason alone do not profess, much less worship, the true God.

Note well: Islam and Judaism positively deny the Trinity. That is, they do not merely refrain from professing the dogma of the Trinity as true (negative denial), they profess that the dogma of the Trinity is false (positive denial). In other words, they are fully aware that there is such a dogma, and they explicitly reject it. That is, they profess that the god they worship is not Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. It cannot, therefore, be the true God, for “he who does not know [the] Trinity does not know the nature of the Godhead”, as the great exegete Fr. Cornelius a Lapide (1567-1637) observes, adding that “if you take away one person you do away with the Godhead altogether” (The Great Commentary: Saint John’s Epistles, p. 117).

We can expect that once this “Abrahamic religions” nonsense has become firmly planted in people’s hearts and minds, the anti-Catholic powers that be will quickly move to dismiss the doctrinal differences between these religions as nothing more than accidentals. They may say that they are legitimate and deserving of “respect” in their own right, being the fruit of “tradition”, but ultimately we should not allow them to obscure the deep essential identity and unity of the “Abrahamic faiths”.

In that manner, another huge step will have been taken towards the Antichrist: “And every spirit that dissolveth Jesus, is not of God: and this is Antichrist, of whom you have heard that he cometh, and he is now already in the world” (1 Jn 4:3).

But now let us finally examine Francis’ video message for the Second International Day of Human Fraternity this past Feb. 4. The Vatican has released an English transcript:

The false pope begins by greeting “with affection and esteem” the Islamic grand imam, claiming that the two of them “have walked together as brothers in the awareness that, while respecting our individual cultures and traditions, we are called to build fraternity as a bulwark against hatred, violence and injustice.” Exactly by whom they are called to do this and how they know that, Francis does not say, but any demon one might pick will presumably be as good as any other.

Make no mistake about it: This isn’t about building “a bulwark against hatred, violence and injustice.” The Roman Catholic religion already forbids hatred and injustice and most violence. This is about destroying the very foundations of the Gospel and of revealed religion in general, which is what the 2019 Document on Human Fraternity does, as demonstrated in the links above.

In his message, Francis acts as if the fact that all human beings are brothers and sisters by nature, were some great new discovery of mankind. It is not, of course. It is clearly one of the oldest known truths. If we did not all share in the same nature, we would not all be humans. There would be no mankind if we were not all human.

From this shared humanity, Francis draws some interesting conclusions, however: “In a mutual and shared spirit of fraternity, all of us must work to promote a culture of peace that encourages sustainable development, tolerance, inclusion, mutual understanding and solidarity.” Oh, must we really?

Of course these are just liberal buzzwords. Take tolerance, for instance. The simple truth is that yes, some things ought to be tolerated, other things may be tolerated, and still other things ought not to be tolerated. It really depends. The same goes for “inclusion”. Who or what is included depends on all sorts of things. To speak of “inclusion” as such as something positive, without an object and lacking all context, does not make much sense. For example, men ought not to be included in women’s sports, and until very recently, everyone knew it.

Then Francis gets more serious:

We all live under the same heaven, independently of where and how we live, the colour of our skin, religion, social group, sex, age, economic conditions or our state of health. All of us are different yet equal, and this time of pandemic has shown that clearly. Let me say once again: we are not saved alone!

(italics given)

Ah, so suddenly the Argentinian apostate introduces the concept of salvation: “we are not saved alone!” Where does this come from, all of a sudden? The notion of salvation is usually associated with religion. At the very least, it has religious overtones. Why does Francis now introduce this quite ambiguous term without clarifying what he means? How did we get from “sustainable development” to “we are not saved alone” in just a few words?

Francis then begins to use “we all live under the same heaven” as a mantra he keeps repeating:

We all live under the same heaven and, in the name of God, we who are his creatures must acknowledge that we are brothers and sisters. As believers from different religious traditions, we have a role to play. What is that role? To help our brothers and sisters raise their eyes and their prayers to heaven. Let us raise our eyes to heaven, because whoever worships God with a sincere heart also loves his or her neighbour. Fraternity makes us open to the Father of all and enables us to see others as our brothers or sisters, to share life, to support one another and to love and come to know others.

This is just nonsense, but it is very dangerous nonsense.

No, unbelievers’ job is not to help Catholics pray, nor is it Catholics’ job to do things that will confirm unbelievers in their errors. Adherents of false religions, as such, have only one role to play: to convert to Roman Catholicism, for “the only true religion is the one established by Jesus Christ Himself, and which He committed to His Church to protect and to propagate” (Pope Leo XIII, Encyclical Immortale Dei, n. 7).

It may be true that “whoever worships God with a sincere heart also loves his or her neighbour”, but raising one’s eyes to heaven is not the same as worshipping the true God “in spirit and in truth” (Jn 4:23-24).

Francis’ assertion that “[f]raternity makes us open to the Father of all” could be true or false, depending on what he means by it, which of course he doesn’t say. One might as well say that being open to the Father of all is the condition for fraternity, rather than its effect, just as one might say that fraternity doesn’t enable us “to see others as our brothers or sisters”, etc., but presupposes it. Oh well, it’s all just a big jumble of words meant to impress but ultimately signifying very little!

The Bergoglian gibberish continues:

We all live under the same heaven. Now is the fitting time to journey together, believers and all people of good will. Do not leave it to tomorrow or an uncertain future. Now is the fitting time to journey together: believers and all people of good will, together. This is a good day to extend a hand, to celebrate our unity in diversity – unity, not uniformity, unity in diversity – in order to say to the communities and societies in which we live that the time of fraternity has arrived. All together, for it is essential to live in solidarity with one another. For this reason, I repeat, now is not a time for indifference: either we are brothers and sisters, or everything falls apart. This is not to be melodramatic; it is the truth! Either we are brothers and sisters, or everything falls apart. We see this in the little wars, in this third world war now being fought piecemeal, as peoples are destroyed, as children go hungry, as their opportunities for education decline… It is destruction. Either we are brothers and sisters, or everything falls apart.

Ah yes, the “journey” we must always be on. There is only one journey all men are indiscriminately called to embark on, and that is the journey to our heavenly homeland (cf. Heb 13:14). This isn’t possible, however, without Faith, hope, and charity, enabled by grace and supernatural divine revelation.

By definition, only Catholics are “believers”, by the way, and everyone else is an unbeliever, either a heretic, an apostate, or an infidel. A schismatic might perhaps also be considered a believer since, unless heresy be joined to his schism, he does not refuse to believe, he simply refuses to be subject to the Pope or to be in communion with the members of the Church. The schismatic’s crime is one against charity, not against Faith.

In any case, the expression “Either we are brothers and sisters, or everything falls apart” is just another mantra Bergoglio is trying to introduce. It is one of his famous ipse dixits, meaning a statement that is asserted and treated as indubitably true but is never actually justified or defended. It is simply an uproven claim, and of course it too abounds in vagueness and ambiguity. If anything, he probably meant “Either we acknowledge that we are brothers and sisters and act accordingly, or everything falls apart”, since simply being brothers and sisters is just a natural fact that has its origin in God creating one single set of parents, Adam and Eve — and even Eve came from Adam (see Gen 2:7,21-24; cf. Pope Pius XII, Encyclical Humani Generis, n. 37).

So, what could this mantra mean? He probably means that the only way we can keep this world from disintegrating into total chaos is to practice this “human fraternity” he is preaching, totally devoid of Christ, outlined in the 2019 Document on Human Fraternity. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the anti-gospel, for it is built on the error of Naturalism, which pretends that mankind can overcome sin and its consequences and attain true and lasting happiness without the supernatural aid of Jesus Christ.

Next, Francis hijacks the sacred calling of Abram in the book of Genesis to promote his Naturalist fraternity apostasy:

This is not a time for forgetfulness. Each day we need to remember what God said to Abram: that raising up his eyes to heaven, he would see the promise of his descendants, that is, ourselves (cf. Interreligious Meeting at the Plain of Ur, 6 March 2021). A promise has also been fulfilled in our lives: that of a fraternity as vast and bright as the stars of heaven!

Francis is very good at misappropriating the divinely-inspired text for his own nefarious ends. Here he claims that the fulfillment of Abraham’s call is the “Abrahamic family” of Christians, Muslims, and apostate Jews, yet that is not true at all. In our post on Francis’ 2021 visit to Ur, Iraq, the place where Abraham was born, we refuted this line of argumentation already:

Towards the end of his intolerable message, Francis declares: “The path of fraternity is long and challenging, it is a difficult path, yet it is the anchor of salvation for humanity” (bold print added).

The anchor of salvation for humanity! What a blasphemous thing to say!

Of course, the true and ultimate anchor of salvation for humanity is our Blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: “Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). In a subordinate and dependent sense, one could also identify the Blessed Virgin Mary as the anchor of salvation, for no grace is given to us except through the intercession of the holy Mother of God, on whose Fiat depended the Redemption of the world (see Lk 1:38).

Similarly, there is another genuine anchor of salvation that must not be neglected. It, too, is entirely dependent upon and subordinate to our Lord Jesus Christ, who in His great mercy and solicitude gave it to mankind as the citadel and bulwark of His Truth. We are speaking, of course, about the Chair of St. Peter, the Supreme Pontificate, the Papacy!

Pope Leo XIII wrote his inaugural encyclical on the topic of the evils of society and pointed out:

Again, if We consider the achievements of the see of Rome, what can be more wicked than to deny how much and how well the Roman bishops have served civilized society at large? For Our predecessors, to provide for the peoples’ good, encountered struggles of every kind, endured to the utmost burdensome toils, and never hesitated to expose themselves to most dangerous trials. With eyes fixed on heaven, they neither bowed down their head before the threats of the wicked, nor allowed themselves to be led by flattery or bribes into unworthy compliance. This apostolic chair it was that gathered and held together the crumbling remains of the old order of things; this was the kindly light by whose help the culture of Christian times shone far and wide; this was an anchor or safety in the fierce storms by which the human race has been convulsed; this was the sacred bond of union that linked together nations distant in region and differing in character; in short, this was a common center from which was sought instruction in faith and religion, no less than guidance and advice for the maintenance of peace and the functions of practical life. In very truth it is the glory of the supreme Pontiffs that they steadfastly set themselves up as a wall and a bulwark to save human society from falling back into its former superstition and barbarism.

(Pope Leo XIII, Encyclical Inscrutabili Dei Consilio, n. 7; underlining added.)

Now that is a salvific anchor for humanity!

Further, concepts such as the following can also legitimately be considered an “anchor of salvation”: prayer, grace, contrition, the works of mercy, the theological virtues of Faith, hope, and charity. Properly understood, these too provide a salvific foundation in dependence on, and subordination to, Jesus Christ the Redeemer. Francis’ interreligious “human fraternity” is not such a salvific anchor, however, for human nature cannot save itself; it cannot overcome its sins and inclinations to sin.

Long ago St. Maximus the Confessor wrote that “greater indeed is the paternity of Christ than that of blood, for the fraternity of blood touches the likeness only of the body; the fraternity of Christ, however, conveys unanimity of heart and spirit, as is written: One was the heart and one the spirit of the multitude of believers” (quoted in Pope Leo XIII, Encyclical Reputantibus, n. 5).

Francis speaks so much about mankind’s shared humanity, yet before unbelievers he is entirely silent on the supernatural fraternity God created every human being to attain, namely, fraternity in Christ. Thus Francis values an earthly life without strife that leads to eternal damnation over the royal way of the Cross which, through cooperation with divine grace, leads to Eternal Bliss in Heaven. He is a demon!

What Francis preaches in our day is essentially the same false notion of fraternity that was once advanced by the French Sillonist movement, namely, a “notion of Fraternity which they found on the love of common interest or, beyond all philosophies and religions, on the mere notion of humanity, thus embracing with an equal love and tolerance all human beings and their miseries, whether these are intellectual, moral, or physical and temporal” (Pope Pius X, Apostolic Letter Notre Charge Apostolique).

Pope St. Pius X condemned the Sillon in 1910 and explained that, while it is certainly true that all humans share in the same humanity and truly are, ultimately, biological brothers and sisters, Catholics cannot simply leave their fellow-men in the darkness of their errors:

But Catholic doctrine tells us that the primary duty of charity does not lie in the toleration of false ideas, however sincere they may be, nor in the theoretical or practical indifference towards the errors and vices in which we see our brethren plunged, but in the zeal for their intellectual and moral improvement as well as for their material well-being. Catholic doctrine further tells us that love for our neighbor flows from our love for God, Who is Father to all, and goal of the whole human family; and in Jesus Christ whose members we are, to the point that in doing good to others we are doing good to Jesus Christ Himself. Any other kind of love is sheer illusion, sterile and fleeting.

Indeed, we have the human experience of pagan and secular societies of ages past to show that concern for common interests or affinities of nature weigh very little against the passions and wild desires of the heart. No, Venerable Brethren, there is no genuine fraternity outside Christian charity. Through the love of God and His Son Jesus Christ Our Saviour, Christian charity embraces all men, comforts all, and leads all to the same faith and same heavenly happiness.

By separating fraternity from Christian charity thus understood, Democracy, far from being a progress, would mean a disastrous step backwards for civilization. If, as We desire with all Our heart, the highest possible peak of well being for society and its members is to be attained through fraternity or, as it is also called, universal solidarity, all minds must be united in the knowledge of Truth, all wills united in morality, and all hearts in the love of God and His Son Jesus Christ. But this union is attainable only by Catholic charity, and that is why Catholic charity alone can lead the people in the march of progress towards the ideal civilization.

(Pope Pius X, Apostolic Letter Notre Charge Apostolique; underlining added.)

Clearly, St. Pius X had no tolerance for Bergoglio-style fraternity! How outraged Pope Pius would be to hear someone call this Naturalist fraternity the “anchor of salvation for humanity”!

Notice how, as with Pope Leo above, here too St. Pius’ chief concern is supernatural. While not denying the importance of humanity’s temporal needs, true Popes subordinate them to the greater concern of eternal salvation. “For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul?” (Mt 16:26).

Francis’ “pontifical” message, by the way, was featured during a 3-hour round table of the “Global Tolerance Alliance” on Feb. 4. Here’s what that looked like:

In connection with the International Day of Human Fraternity, the apostate Vatican has eagerly highlighted other contributions to the “human fraternity” project as well, such as the following:

In fact, Vatican News even uploaded the Trinity-denying Muslim grand imam’s own message for the Day of Human Fraternity:

Human Fraternity Day was promoted in separate videos by the Vatican and by that “Higher Committee”. It’s really not easy to decide which of these clips is worse:

In this post we have seen that Francis preaches salvation by human fraternity. According to his gospel of man, humanity saves itself: It doesn’t need a Savior, it is the Savior! Man is to save himself by his own efforts — grace has nothing to do with it; at best there is some sort of collective “looking to heaven” that all religions participate in, utilizing the principle of the lowest common denominator. This is apostasy! Does it not remind us of the warning given by Pope St. Pius X in his first encyclical letter?

When all this is considered there is good reason to fear lest this great perversity may be as it were a foretaste, and perhaps the beginning of those evils which are reserved for the last days; and that there may be already in the world the “Son of Perdition” of whom the Apostle speaks (II. Thess. ii., 3). Such, in truth, is the audacity and the wrath employed everywhere in persecuting religion, in combating the dogmas of the faith, in brazen effort to uproot and destroy all relations between man and the Divinity! While, on the other hand, and this according to the same apostle is the distinguishing mark of Antichrist, man has with infinite temerity put himself in the place of God, raising himself above all that is called God; in such wise that although he cannot utterly extinguish in himself all knowledge of God, he has contemned God’s majesty and, as it were, made of the universe a temple wherein he himself is to be adored. “He sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself as if he were God” (II. Thess. ii., 2).

(Pope Pius X, Encyclical E Supremi, n. 5; underlining added.)

The fake fraternity preached by Francis has a merely earthly goal: peaceful coexistence for members of all religions through liberty, equality, fraternity. By contrast, the genuine Christian fraternity the real Catholic Church preaches has an earthly but, more importantly, also a supernatural goal: for all men to be peacefully united not merely in their humanity but in the true religion, subjecting themselves to the sweet yoke of Christ (cf. Mt 11:30) and His Church, “the pillar and ground of the truth” (1 Tim 3:15), so that through supernatural Faith, hope, and charity, aided by God’s grace, they will journey to a blessed eternity in the Beatific Vision.

It is evident, then, that Bergoglio preaches humanity over Christ, nature over grace, and the “Ark of Fraternity” over the Ark of Salvation. He is no different from those “lying teachers” denounced by the first Pope, St. Peter: “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be among you lying teachers, who shall bring in sects of perdition, and deny the Lord who bought them: bringing upon themselves swift destruction” (2 Pet 2:1).

Do not attach yourself to the false prophet Francis, therefore, lest you perish with him.
