Affirmation of loyalty after civil union kerfuffle…

“I believe in Pope Francis…”:

Bizarre Pseudo-Creed recited at Mexican Parish

A curious thing happened on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, during the Novus Ordo meal service performed at the Parroquia de San Agustín (St. Augustine’s Church) in the city of San Agustín, municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, in the state of Jalisco, Mexico.

Towards the end of the “Mass”, after the usual parish announcements, the presbyter said they were now going to pray a “creed” for “Pope” Francis — for protection from his enemies, against bad intentions, and against those who seek to undermine the credibility of his words. He then invited the people in attendance to mentally join him in this prayer:

Here is a translation of this “creed”, kindly provided by a Novus Ordo Watch reader:

I believe in Pope Francis as the legitimate Successor of the Apostle Peter. I believe that the Holy Ghost speaks to the Church through him. I believe that he guides the Catholic Church as a true Pastor. I believe that he is diligently concerned with all of humanity, because we are all brothers and sons of God. I believe in his magisterium, which is in perfect harmony with the faith and morals of the Church. I believe that his personal opinions reflect the evangelical attitude of the believers in Christ. I reject all offenses, aspersions, and insults towards his person. As for those who reject his authority, I affirm that they are in ecclesiastical error as much as in error of communion.

We ask all of this of Thee, O Lord, through Jesus Christ Our Lord.

The concluding formula at the end of this prayer, “We ask all of this, etc.” doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, considering that the prayer does not contain any petitions but is a statement of belief and affirmation.

However, aside from that, the words of this creed speak for themselves, and they are outrageous. Keep in mind that this Novus Ordo priest is talking about the Vatican’s blasphemer and apostate in chief, the man otherwise known as Jorge Bergoglio. Apparently his defection from the Faith has now taken on such severity and acuteness that Novus Ordos are being asked to explicitly pledge their loyalty to him and to his errors. That says more than a mouthful.

For the sake of clarity: At this Novus Ordo “Mass”, the regular Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed had been recited at its proper place. What the presbyter read at the end was an additional creed, a quasi-creed making clear his own adherence to Antipope Francis and hoping to elicit the parishioners’ as well. This comes on the heels of the recent chaos Bergoglio unleashed with his candid comments about legal protections for sodomites.

The parish of San Augstín belongs to the Novus Ordo Archdiocese of Guadalajara, by the way, whose head since 2011 has been “Cardinal” José Robles Ortega. The entire service can be viewed on the parish’s Facebook page.
