Fr. Georg Ratzinger, the brother of “Pope Emeritus” Benedict XVI (Joseph Ratzinger), has died at the age of 96.

Ratzinger, the former long-time director of the world-famous Regensburger Domspatzen cathedral choir, passed away in Regensburg, Germany, on July 1, 2020. This was being reported earlier today by various highly reliable news outlets, and has now been confirmed also by the Vatican:

Fr. Joseph Ratzinger, “Pope Emeritus” Benedict XVI, is now in Regensburg, Germany, visiting his 96-year-old brother, Georg, who appears to be close to death.

Fr. Joseph Ratzinger, the public heretic who played Pope of the Catholic Church under the stage name of “Benedict XVI” from 2005-13 and now calls himself “Pope Emeritus”, has left Vatican City for an indefinite period of time. This morning he was flown to Germany to visit his gravely ill brother, “Mgr.” Georg Ratzinger, who is 96 and resides at his private home in the Bavarian city of Regensburg (Ratisbonne).
