A typical Modernist…

In Final Speech, Francis warns of ‘Temptations’, criticizes ‘Traditionalists’ and ‘Liberals’

In a sly move, “Pope” Francis addressed the Synod in Rome at its closure and criticized both liberals and conservatives for succumbing to certain “temptations” — thus allowing both sides to claim victory in a sense, and thus perpetuating the problem and the controversy until the Ordinary Synod scheduled for October 2015. This way, he has averted a schism at least until then, when final decisions will be made and Francis will release a so-called “Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation” that whichever side wins will say is “the Pope speaking” and the losing side will claim is “just a non-binding exhortation” (which is precisely what we saw with regard to the heretical 2013 exhortation Evangelii Gaudium).… READ MORE

The “Heretical” Popes
Part 1: Adrian VI

[UPDATE 07-APR-2015: The First Vatican Council on the Question of a Heretical Pope]

There are two major lines of argument used by people who are rabidly anti-sedevacantist; that is, those who oppose the position of Sedevacantism not on account of evidence, real or imagined, but on account of a desire to see the position opposed for some other motive.

The first line of argumentation is to downplay the problems with the Vatican II “Popes” to make them seem less serious than they are. The second line of argumentation is to exaggerate the problems with some true Popes of the past to make them seem comparable to the situation we find ourselves in today, when outright apostates are claiming the papal office, especially Francis, Benedict XVI, John Paul II, and Paul VI.

What’s Good for the Goose is Good for the Gander: How the October Synod Refutes Vatican II’s False Ecclesiology

When the so-called “Synod on the Family” met at the Vatican this past October, a lot of people were outraged when they heard about the midterm document (relatio) that attempted to dissect mortal sins — including those that cry to Heaven for vengeance — into positive and negative “elements”. This idea, however, was not entirely new — it was simply the extension of a concept endorsed at the Second Vatican Council, according to which there exist “elements” of the Catholic Church in other religions, specifically Protestant sects.… READ MORE

Response to “The Remnant”

Is Francis a Valid Pope?
—Why It Does Matter

In a blog post published on October 25, 2014 by The Remnant, pseudonymous author ‘Megaera Erinyes’ tries a new approach to the issue of Sedevacantism, the question of whether Francis is in fact a valid Pope or an illicit usurper: She says it doesn’t matter.

Now that’s just rich for a publication that has spent considerable amounts of ink opposing Sedevacantism over the decades. What is going on here?

In what follows, we will look at some salient points made in the Erinyes article and contrast them with traditional Catholic teaching to explain why it really does matter if Francis is the Pope.… READ MORE

“And then I told them, ‘I’m a faithful son of the Church!’”

High Five, Francis!

The following is an excerpt from an article brought to you by Religion News Service on the meeting “Pope” Francis had with American Protestant preachers Kenneth Copeland and James Robison at the Vatican. The story speaks for itself, but there’s one little correction we must offer: The author of the piece, Sarah Pulliam Bailey, is wrong in saying this was the “first-ever papal high-five.” Francis had actually done it before, as we reported in our post on December 21, 2013, which you can see here.

Concluding Commentary

Oh, the Drama!
The Synod is Over — For Now

Thank goodness, the Synod in Rome is finally over: Two weeks of speculation, intrigue, accusations and denials, and pseudo-theological hysteria that culminated in the blasphemous and sacrilegious “beatification” of the False Pope Paul VI (Giovanni Battista Montini) are finally at an end. What was supposed to be an episcopal discussion group on theological matters turned out to be a wild soap opera of Hollywood proportions — and it’s far from over.

This assembly in Rome was merely the first, “extraordinary” part of a larger, two-synod event which will conclude in October 2015 with an “ordinary” synod at which the attendant Novus Ordo bishops will submit final recommendations to Francis with regard to the topics under discussion, after which the “Pope” will then release a so-called “post-synodal apostolic exhortation” as he did in 2013 with the heretical and turgid Evangelii Gaudium.… READ MORE

Another Heresy from Richard Rohr

Consider yourself blessed if you’ve never come across the name or theology of “Fr.” Richard Rohr, one of the Novus Ordo Sect’s most dangerous Modernists in the United States. Officially a “Franciscan priest”, Mr. Rohr — ordained in 1970 in the doubtfully valid Novus Ordo rite of Paul VI — is a master of syncretism, mixing traces of Catholicism with lots of New Age and Modernist “spirituality” that he administers to people at his “Center for Action and Contemplation” in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

We have exposed Rohr and the dangers of his false theology and false spirituality before in the following post:

Rohr’s satanic New Age agenda also includes “retreats” in the desert where, so he boasts, oftentimes men will strip naked and jump over a fire.

“One and the Same Rite”?
How Benedict XVI’s Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum Aims to Destroy the Traditional Latin Mass

[Originally published Oct. 12, 2007; last revised April 11, 2017]

After about a year of rumors, on July 7, 2007, Fr. Joseph Ratzinger (“Pope Benedict XVI”) finally released an “Apostolic Letter motu proprio,” entitled Summorum Pontificum, on the use of the Roman Missal of 1962, the liturgical rite that is referred to by many as the “Traditional Latin Mass.” This document grants a fairly wide permission to priests in the Novus Ordo Church to use the 1962 Missal (of John XXIII) instead of the 1970 Missal (of Paul VI) for their celebration of Mass, though it does not do away with all conditions and restrictions, as we will see below.… READ MORE

Francis Receives “Blessing” from Archlayman of Canterbury

Mr. Welby “blesses” Mr. Bergoglio on June 16, 2014
(image credit: Servizio Fotografico Vaticano / used with permission)

On Monday, June 16, Jorge Bergoglio (aka “Pope Francis”) had his friend Justin Welby over, the so-called “Archbishop of Canterbury,” and decided to receive a “blessing” from the imaginary clergyman. As Pope Leo XIII definitively decreed in 1896, the holy orders possessed by Anglican clergy are invalid, “absolutely null and utterly void”:

Then, considering that this matter, although already decided, had been by certain persons for whatever reason recalled into discussion, and that thence it might follow that a pernicious error would be fostered in the minds of many who might suppose that they possessed the Sacrament and effects of Orders, where these are nowise to be found, it seemed good to Us in the Lord to pronounce our judgment.
