In “Full Communion” with the Novus Ordo Sect…

The Roaring Modernism of “Fr.” Richard Rohr

“Father” Richard Rohr, OFM

One of the most infamous Modernist apostates the Vatican II Sect in the United States has to offer under the label of “Catholic” is Mr. Richard Rohr, a Franciscan Novus Ordo priest notorious for his dissent even from official Novus Ordo doctrine on faith and morals, not to mention his rejection of traditional Roman Catholic teaching.

Rohr is a genuine Modernist and a very popular speaker and author in the U.S. He is the founder of the Rohr Institute and its so-called “Center for Action and Contemplation”, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Under the guise of “Christian mysticism”, Rohr pushes New Age doctrines and practices and advocates what he calls an “alternative orthodoxy”, defined as “practices of contemplation and lived kenosis (self-emptying), expressing itself in radical compassion” (source). He is an ardent supporter of the New Age Enneagram and teaches its use; in 1992, he co-authored Discovering the Enneagram: An Ancient Tool for a New Spiritual Journey (Crossroad Publishing).

On the web site of his Center for Action and Contemplation, he offers a free subscription to his “Daily Meditations” by email. In one of them, he answers the question, “How long should I pray?” in this manner: “As long as it takes you to get to an emotional and mental yes!” (source). But of course! …Obviously this question would have been answered no differently by St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Alphonsus Liguori, or St. John Vianney, eh?

Another tidbit worth mentioning is Rohr’s “Labyrinth of the Dancing Christ”, which people are encouraged to walk in the garden of the retreat center. The instructions provided are quite simple: “Walk the seven circuits slowly, circling inward to rest at the center in Presence. As you circle outward, carry with you the awareness of union with all in the Divine.” With spiritual tools like labyrinths, who needs those highly-indulgenced Stations of the Cross?!

Rohr, of course, enjoys “full communion” with the Vatican II Church and is in the good graces of the Novus Ordo corruption of what used to be the Franciscan order. Rohr has been leading people into spiritual ruin for a long time, and plenty of critiques of his wicked pseudo-Christian and apostate doctrines and practices have appeared over the years, albeit from Novus Ordo sources. Here are a few of them:

These articles contain plenty of interesting detail and will give you a solid overview of what’s wrong with Richard Rohr and the poison he is allowed to spread among the Novus Ordo faithful.

There is one quote from Rohr that we would like to draw special attention to, from a talk he gave in 1997 at a pro-perversion symposium. The talk was entitled “The Men’s Movement: Homoeroticism and Homophobia.” The following quotes are found in the above-linked article Coloring Outside the Lines and demonstrate what a disgrace Richard Rohr is. Commenting on men’s retreats he conducts, he begins speaking about nudity:

“The nakedness thing, I must comment on, is really uncanny to me. I could give a whole talk just on that. I never encourage nakedness, as such, but it always happens. I will normally have on the fourth day of a five-day retreat, a day where I send them out into the canyons or into the desert alone. I’ve prepared them for that day. A lot of men, and women too, I’m sure have never spent a day alone, in solitude. And then that night we come back and process: What happened in the canyons alone?

Well, there’s always one who in that processing will raise his hand and, sort of with embarrassment, admit that when he got out there he took off all his clothes. And then there’s chuckles all around the room — I can just predict it, it happens every time — there’s chuckles all over the room. ‘Oh! I did, too!’ I did, too!’ I did, too!’ There’s something about nakedness in the male psyche — and now I’ve studied initiation rites — it’s universal. The boy always gets naked, as you see in the sweat lodges, too.

And I think it’s this desire to get rid of all this persona. All this stuff you have to live up to — you pay a big price for being a patriarch. And feminism has sometimes not been sympathetic enough with that. You pay a big price for having roles and titles and importance and power and significance and the male is just finding every way he can to take it off, to take it off. They always tell me they had to do it and it’s amazing how often some wonderful things happen in this sitting there in the sunlight naked — exposed, as it were.”

“We often have camp-fires, and I know some of you have been at these where it happens, so you know what I’m talking about. Always, always, there’s some guys — I mean, is it in their hard wiring? — they’ll strip and have to leap over that fire, burning their balls. . . . I don’t know what it is. They’re the ‘real’ men, who can leap over the fire, naked.”

“This is not part of my agenda that they’re supposed to . . . it’s just that we have a fire, and then predictably men start doing the same old damn [sic] things, all again and again and again. There’s this deep desire to get naked, to somehow, even risk nakedness in front of one another. To expose the self. That’s really pretty archetypal. It shouldn’t really surprise us at all, should it? I mean, that’s really what all lovemaking is, of course — could you love me when you see me in my nakedness? Could I still be beautiful, could I still be attractive to you in my nakedness? Can you see it all and still be desirous of me?”

Keep in mind: This man is considered a Catholic priest in the Vatican II Church. Further comments on this should not be needed.

But we also have some video to share. If you can stomach it, below you will find a 5-minute clip of Mr. Rohr lecturing on “What Did Jesus Really Teach?”, attacking Catholic moral doctrine, falsely interpreting the sacred words of our Blessed Lord, and pushing his own false pacifist hippie gospel, which is part of “the great movement of apostasy” denounced by Pope St. Pius X, which has “neither dogmas, nor hierarchy, neither discipline for the mind, nor curb for the passions” (Apostolic Letter Our Apostolic Mandate, 1910).

Rohr is precisely one of those false teachers condemned by St. Paul: “For there shall be a time, when [people] will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: and will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables” (2 Tim 4:3-4).

The Franciscan apostate has a presence on Twitter and can be contacted at his handle: @RichardRohrOFM. Repeated attempts on our part to ask him to clarify if he still conducts “retreats” where men burn their genitalia by spontaneously jumping over a fire were met with defeaning silence.

The New Church, overall, has no problem with Rohr and allows him to operate freely. There is plenty of room in the Modernist Sect for people like him. On the other hand: Can you imagine how Rohr would have been dealt with if instead of pushing perversion and New Age apostasy he had been advocating a rejection of Vatican II and the New Mass?

He would have been disciplined and removed faster than you can say “kenoetic-hypnotic psychosubliminal omega point.”

Your own quote“ turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables” (2 Tim 4:3-4). is exactly what you yourselves are doing. You have forgotten the truth that Jesus tried to teach! You have forgotten what the saints stood for – which is exactly the truth that Richard Rohr speaks – as confirmed by the lovely video clip of a mature and heartfelt man courageously speaking truth. Uncomfortable truth for some perhaps, but truth.

N.O.W. I’m new to this thread, and to the site. But I am wholly in agreement with you. The comments below just contribute to making your point. I found the site after being forwarded yet another reflection from a relative whom I dearly love, but worry about. Thanks!

He is recognized as such, but is he–really?? Follow the money. If they bring in cash, the Church tolerates them.

Jesus said: “If you love me, keep my Commandments.” John 14:15 If one does not loves Jesus, then, yes, of course, one does not have to KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. That one may changes its meaning by adding or taking away from His Immutable Truth. The Nature of the Words of Jesus are all Immutable! “Heaven will pass away, earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away!” Jesus came to SAVE souls of the Rich, the Poor and all those in between. He never focused on the physical side of life, but he Spiritual side of Life! His best friend was one of the richest men in Jerusalem. After that man died and his body was decaying, Jesus raised him up from death and let him to live on some more, to give more of his love of good will to others. “The tree is known by its fruits.” Jesus looks into the Hearts of every human, not how each stands economically! Any one who promotes any form of Violation to anyone of the The Ten Commandments while confessing that who is a Roman Catholic is a Hypocrite! “You hypocrites, you vipers, you white washed sepulcher of bleached bones.” To live in the Words of Jesus demands Truthfulness and leading a honest life. What we say and what we do are present for all to see. No reason to argue, but, reason to pray for those lost souls who no long see Truth, due to MORTAL SIN Within their souls!

Thomas Merton promoted ‘T rue Faith’? All the more I now would believe this post above than such a comment. And I’m not even “so called’ Catholic. Yes, I’d ‘throw out Thomas Merton ‘ too, who died from electrocution after abandoning ‘The Faith’ for Buddhism.

Don’t be so sure TRW….Rohr sounds a bit like the equivalent of a modern Pharisee; then again, much of Catholicism is rooted in ‘traditions of men’..as it is, which of course the LORD had things to say about that.
