Nine years ago, on Apr. 8, 2016, the Argentinian Modernist Jorge Bergoglio (aka ‘Pope’ Francis) issued the infernal apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia, which gave the green light to those in the Vatican II Church who are in an adulterous second ‘marriage’ — the so-called ‘divorced-and-remarried’ — to receive Holy Communion without first repenting of their adultery.
Endless controversy ensued, with copious articles written on the subject, both pro and con, with some authors stubbornly denying the obvious truth about Amoris Laetitia and others going so far in their defense of the indefensible as to argue that adultery is sometimes just a venial sin, a specious argument that Vatican’s doctrinal office itself subsequently adopted.
Fast-forward to April 9, 2025. “Pope Francis holds a private audience at the Casa Santa Marta with Britain’s King Charles III and Queen Camilla, expressing his best wishes for their wedding anniversary”, Vatican News reports and presents further details:
In a statement released on Wednesday evening, the Holy See Press Office stated: “Pope Francis met privately with Their Majesties, King Charles and Queen Camilla, this afternoon. In the course of the meeting, the Pope expressed his best wishes to Their Majesties on the occasion of their wedding anniversary and reciprocated His Majesty’s wishes for a speedy recovery of his health.”

Rome Reports has released a video clip with a picture of the meeting:

At first sight, one might not think much of this. So Francis congratulated the British king and queen on their 20th wedding anniversary. What of it?
The problem is that Charles and Camilla are not actually married to each other but are living in sin. In reality, Camilla (née Shand) is married to Andrew Parker Bowles. Below are some photos of their wedding, which took place on July 4, 1973; followed by a newspaper clipping taken from the Daily Telegraph announcing the nuptials:
Once a marriage between two baptized people has been validly contracted and consummated, there is no power on earth that can dissolve it, not even the Pope: “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Mk 10:9).
Thus it is abundantly clear that King Charles is not validly married to Camilla Parker Bowles; their union is adulterous. This is not without a certain irony, considering that King Charles III is the official head of the so-called Church of England (Anglican Church), which was founded by King Henry VIII (1491-1547) after Pope Clement VII (r. 1523-1534) refused to declare the king’s marriage to Catherine of Aragon null simply because he wanted to marry Anne Boleyn instead.

For Francis to acknowledge as valid the adulterous union of King Charles and Camilla is an intolerable scandal. To congratulate them for it and wishing them a happy anniversary is to approve of their sin, to wish them happiness in their sin, and to hope that they continue in it and remain attached to it. This constitutes a betrayal of Christ, for it makes a mockery of His holy Law, encourages sinners to remain on the road to eternal perdition, and entices others to do likewise.
For Francis to act as if an adulterous union were the same as holy matrimony is an intolerable outrage, but it is not at all out of character for him. Let’s remember that in September of 2017, during his trip to Colombia, the ‘Pope’ blessed the adulterous union of the country’s president and his mistress:
Francis has long shown that he has contempt for the Catholic teaching on holy matrimony and likes to promote what is contrary to it. The following sample links illustrate this point:

At the same time, Bergoglio has also gone on record accusing the Catholic Church, the Bride of Christ, of “flagrant adultery”. The false pope is not content being a heretic; he must blaspheme as well.

Those who think that ‘Pope’ Francis’ good wishes to King Charles and Camilla for their ‘wedding’ anniversary are ‘no big deal’ in today’s world, do not understand how serious the matter is: “Adulterers, know you not that the friendship of this world is the enemy of God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of this world, becometh an enemy of God” (Jas 4:4).
St. John the Baptist was imprisoned by King Herod (and later executed) for telling him to his face, “It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife” (Mk 6:18). Pope Clement VII was more willing to lose England to schism and, effectively, to hand over loyal Catholics to a bloody persecution than to compromise on the indissolubility of marriage. Saint Thomas More and Saint John Fisher were martyred for witnessing to the true teaching of Jesus Christ against the adulterous king.
“Know you not that the unjust shall not possess the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor liers with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor railers, nor extortioners, shall possess the kingdom of God” (1 Cor 6:9-10); “Marriage honourable in all, and the bed undefiled. For fornicators and adulterers God will judge” (Heb 13:4).
So, yes, it really is a big deal.
