Reserving the ‘Blessed Sacrament’ for the Crowds

According to reports, there were an estimated 1.5 million people in attendance at the Closing ‘Mass’ for World Youth Day in Lisbon with ‘Pope’ Francis on Aug. 6, 2023.

If a real Catholic Mass, offered by a real Pope, with that many people were ever to happen, it would be clear that Holy Communion would not be distributed, for the simple reason that it could not be done with sufficient dignity and reverence: the danger of sacrilege would be too great. However, it was the Novus Ordo Missae (‘New Order of Mass’, or ‘New Mass’) presided over by a false pope, so chaos was all but inevitable, especially considering that ‘Communion’ was given also in the hand.

Reserving the ‘Blessed Sacrament’ — typically invalid in Novus Ordo Masses, also on account of invalid priests — is rather difficult for a mega event like that, but the folks at World Youth Day in Lisbon made it happen. Like this (note also the potted plants in lieu of flowers):

The obsession with distributing ‘Communion’ even under the most impractical of circumstances has to do with the Novus Ordo theology of the Mass: Among other things, the Mass was changed from being the Sacrifice of Calvary, offered in an unbloody manner, to being a re-enactment of the Last Supper. And how can there be a supper without distribution of the meal to all who wish to receive it?

Remember Francis’ first World Youth Day ten years ago, in Rio de Janeiro? ‘Holy Communion’ was distributed from disposable plastic cups! This time around, in addition to the ciboria shown above, they also used plastic bowls from IKEA. That’s definitely a step up! A Novus Ordo apologist might argue: “See, World Youth Day is getting more conservative!” 😜

The New Mass, originally promulgated by ‘Pope’ Paul VI in 1969, is based on false, non-Catholic theology, and this is very visible in the externals:

Nothing is more responsible for the utter wreckage of souls after Vatican II than the New Mass of ‘Saint’ Paul VI, since it is that liturgy devout souls came in contact with and were poisoned by.

In the first edition of the General Instruction of the Novus Ordo Missal, released in 1969, Paul VI in all seriousness presented this as the definition of the Catholic Mass:

The Lord’s Supper, or Mass, is the sacred meeting or congregation of the people of God assembled, the priest presiding, to celebrate the memorial of the Lord. For this reason, Christ’s promise applies eminently to such a local gathering of holy Church: “Where two or three come together in my name, there am I in their midst” (Mt. 18:20).

Martin Luther could not have said it better! After a firestorm of outrage, including the famous ‘Ottaviani Intervention’, the heretical definition was changed into something orthodox for the subsequent (1970) editions.

The point is that in the Vatican II religion, the Mass is essentially the Last Supper, not the Sacrifice of the Cross. That is not to say that one won’t find a single catechetical or magisterial Novus Ordo source that speaks of the Mass as sacrifice, but rather, that the Mass is overwhelmingly taught and treated as being a mere meal.

When we look at the architecture of most Novus Ordo churches, the liturgical setup, the language used, what is placed the most emphasis on in catechesis, what is typically omitted, etc., it is clear that what is actually being taught is that the Mass is first and foremost a meal. That is why they have a “presentation of the gifts” more so than an offertory; why they like to speak of the “table” of the Lord rather than God’s altar; why in many churches kneelers have been removed (who kneels at a meal?); why there is more of a liturgical “presider” than a sacrificing priest; why the rite of ‘Mass’ has eliminated the offertory prayers and replaced them with a Jewish table blessing that speaks of having “bread” and “wine to offer”, the “work of human hands”. It also explains why they often treat (what they believe to be) the Holy Eucharist like popcorn and have the presider facing the people rather than God in the Tabernacle.

Most of all, it explains why for them Mass without ‘Communion’ for the people is unthinkable, since no one can be invited to a meal of which he cannot partake. Therefore, distribution of ‘Communion’ must take place, no matter the consequences.

It is perhaps no surprise that a ‘miracle’ has been reported to have occurred in Portugal in connection with Francis and World Youth Day: A 16-year-old blind woman, Jimena, is said to have regained her sight at Fatima after receiving ‘Communion’ there at the Novus Ordo meal service Bergoglio presided over. Tragically, many will immediately jump on this alleged occurrence and consider it divine approval of the Novus Ordo religion, of the New Mass, of Bergoglio’s claim to the Papacy, and of World Youth Day in general, at least the one in Lisbon (including its ‘Mass’ for sodomites?). Somehow it does not occur to people that Christ warned us about the false signs and wonders that would be wrought before He returns in glory — false miracles so powerful that they would, if possible, deceive even the elect: “And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; lo, he is here: do not believe. For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, and they shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce (if it were possible) even the elect” (Mk 13:21-22).

This is obviously not to pass judgment on the blind woman who can reportedly see now, it is merely meant as a reminder of our Lord’s warning that we must not allow ourselves to be deceived. It is utterly inconceivable that God would endorse the new religion, its worship service, or the false pope. Instructed by the perennial Catholic Faith, we know what a wicked blasphemer Bergoglio is and what contempt he has for Our Lady; what terrible things they have done to Fatima; what they have done to the Holy Mass; and what nefarious doctrines the ‘Pope’ now teaches that are manifestly contrary to the true Faith.

Whoever would disregard all of these facts because of a reported ‘miracle’, is begging to be deceived.
