U.S. politician and radical abortion supporter…
Francis gives Warm Welcome
to Nancy Pelosi at Vatican
Clearly in awe of each other: “Pope” Francis with Nancy Pelosi

It is an old adage that a picture says more than a thousand words. Just imagine how much a number of pictures communicate, then.
Photos sending a very clear message were taken this past Saturday, Oct. 9, when “Pope” Francis (Jorge Bergoglio) granted a private audience to Nancy Pelosi (b. 1940), the current Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Here is some coverage of this event:
- “Pope Francis and Nancy Pelosi meet at the Vatican” (Catholic News Agency)
- “Pope Francis meets with US Speaker of the House Pelosi” (National Catholic Reporter)
- “Pope Francis meets with US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the Vatican” (Religion News Service)
- “The Pope meets Pelosi” (De Omnibus Dubitandum Est)
- “Pope Francis meets with pro-abortion Nancy Pelosi ahead of UN Climate Change Conference” (Life Site)
Pelosi received a cordial welcome by Francis, who clearly seemed enamored of his American guest. The affection was visible and mutual. The two also exchanged a most awkward handshake:
Of course there are not just still pictures of the occasion, there are also video clips. Not surprisingly, they underscore even more the affection that exists between these two politicians:
The body language speaks volumes: These two are in admiration of each other and very happy to be meeting. They are certainly very comfortable in each other’s presence.
After the visit, Pelosi published a press release in her capacity as Speaker of the House:
Pelosi is 81 years old and, like Francis, a member of the Novus Ordo religion (sometimes falsely identified as “Roman Catholicism”). She represents the 12th congressional district of California, which includes San Francisco. Her “archbishop” is Mr. Salvatore Cordileone.
It is well known that Pelosi is an ardent supporter of the surgical dismemberment of preborn children known as abortion, and also of the tax-payer funding thereof. If we consider words alone, Francis has positioned himself on several occasions as a clear opponent of abortion, in line with traditional Catholic and even official Novus Ordo teaching:
- Francis compares abortion to hiring a hitman (2018)
- Francis likens abortion to ‘hiring a hitman’ at anti-abortion conference (2019)
- Francis decries abortion and euthanasia as treating human life like ‘waste’ (2021)
- Respect Life: Francis’ 8 strongest statements against abortion (2021)
Tough talk by the Frankster, eh?
The problem is: The false pope’s words stand in stark contrast to his actions; and, as we all know, the latter speak louder than the former.
For example, in the past Francis has invited the pagan left’s pro-abortion witchdoctors straight to the Vatican to talk sustainable ecology, “healthcare”, climate change, migrants, and the rest. A Dutch abortion activist got a pontifical medal from him. With Emma Bonino, he even gave a friendly welcome to an actual abortionist and called her a “forgotten great”! Bonino once bragged that she and her associates had killed over 10,000 preborn infants — at a time when abortion was a crime in Italy! In light of this despicable behavior, it is clear that Bergoglio’s tough words against abortion mean nothing: “…for they say, and do not” (Mt 23:3).
By maintaining such a hypocritical double standard, the false pope’s conservative adherents have “papal” quotes they can throw at “pro-abortion Catholics”, while the advocates of pre-born child murder can boost their power and influence on account of “papal” approval.
The power of photos, actions, and body language cannot be denied. It is clear that Nancy Pelosi is returning to the United States with “papal” approval — that is the story these images are telling. And you know who looks really bad now? “Abp.” Cordileone, who just recently began “inviting all Catholics to join in a massive and visible campaign of prayer and fasting for Speaker Pelosi: [to] commit to praying one rosary a week and fasting on Fridays for her conversion of heart” (source).
By the way: That Saturday evening, Oct. 9, in Rome, Pelosi was scheduled to be a lectress at the local parish of St. Patrick. She was supposed to do the second reading at the Novus Ordo worship service. Only a security incident kept it from happening.
Francis is a master politician and master manipulator. As we’ve noted before, he knows how to enable and support abortion while being “officially” opposed to it.
Conservative Novus Ordo apologists will continue to tout Francis’ words and ignore or downplay his actions. Whom they are serving by that is an interesting question — it’s definitely not the God of Truth.
