Off the rocker…

Bergoglio’s Rocker: Buenos Aires Rocker “Priest” has Endorsement from “Pope” Francis

Cesar Scicchitano is the name of an Argentinian Novus Ordo priest in his mid-50s who is the frontman of a rock band called Los Pecadores. While such is by no means an unusual occurrence in Novus Ordo Land, this one comes with an added twist: “Father” Cesar’s undertaking has the explicit blessing of Jorge Bergoglio, the man otherwise known as “Pope” Francis. And that’s just the beginning.

According to a report published by the The China Post in 2013, Scicchitano has been friends with Francis for (now) over twenty years. He says he received a letter from the “Pope” in which Mr. Bergoglio encourages him “to keep rocking, and reinforce his message from onstage.”

The rocker-presbyter is incardinated in the Novus Ordo Archdiocese of Buenos Aires, the very diocese headed by none other than Jorge Bergoglio himself  before his election as head of the Vatican II Sect in 2013. It is no surprise, therefore, that Bergoglio and Scicchitano would know each other rather well. “Francis has rock inside him,” Scicchitano says, “because rock is all about breaking down structures.” That is a statement one would indeed be hard-pressed to disagree with.

Not only, however, does Francis like or endorse Scicchitano’s band, he even invited the rockers to perform at his “Masses” when he was “Cardinal” Bergoglio, the China Post report reveals. Given Bergoglio’s past as a Supreme Perpetrator of liturgical chaos, this is very believable indeed. Just the following few links provide a good idea of what “Pope Francis” is about when it comes to what is supposed to be (even for Novus Ordo standards) the Sacred Liturgy:

In typical Novus Ordo style, “Fr.” Cesar speaks casually and irreverently of Our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, saying: “Jesus was a rocker because of the hard core toughness he had. He had to get up on that cross and take it.” This is how in the Novus Ordo Sect a supposed priest speaks of the Creator of the Universe, the Word-made-Flesh, before Whom “every knee should bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth, and under the earth” (Phil 2:10)!

Apparently Scicchitano takes requests for writing new ditties: “I also wrote a song about prostitutes at Bergoglio’s request because he wanted to touch on the issue given his commitment to fighting human trafficking,” he relates. Clearly, this man has understood the nature and purpose of the Catholic priesthood!

Be sure to read the full article by The China Post, as well as a brief post by National Review, and one on the same topic published in Religión en Libertad, if you understand Spanish:

Welcome to the New Evangelization, everyone. This is the Church of Francis, and just like in the eponymous rock song, you’d better fasten your seatbelts, because… “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet”!

In this video you see the “rocker priest” perform inside a church, right in front of the “sanctuary”, with some people in the pews swooning as their hippie presbyter takes them back to the 1970s….

Of course “Fr.” Cesar also has a Facebook page. There he just promoted an “Evening Rock Mass” for this past Sunday, September 20 — “for believers and non-believers”, as the ad states. Note in particular his stylish face mask:

At least Scicchitano’s band has an appropriate name: Los Pecadores means “The Sinners.”

Perhaps they’re proud to be.
