When Gaia calls: Televised Novus Ordo “Mass” ends with Hymn to Pagan Earth Goddess
From the Modernist Sect which “rejects nothing that is true and holy in [false] religions” (Vatican II, Declaration Nostra Aetate, n. 2) comes this latest tidbit testifying to religious syncretism: The “Archdiocese” of Toronto, Canada, includes in its weekly televised Novus Ordo “Mass” as a recessional the heathen hymn O Beautiful Gaia, an ode to the Pagan earth goddess Gaia. See for yourself:
The hymn to the earth goddess begins at 27:30
O Beautiful Gaia was written by Carolyn McDade, an American progressivist and feminist with ties to Unitarian Universalism, who wants to help bring about “humanity renewed in an Earth refreshed” (source). The lyrics to the heathen song can be found here. Gaia is one of those “dumb idols” denounced by St. Paul in 1 Cor 12:2.
So, let’s get this straight: “Pope” Francis releases an encyclical letter on care for the environment (“Laudato Si”), exhorting mankind to be nice to “Mother Earth”, and the next thing you know is, earth worship is incorporated into an official televised archdiocesan “Catholic Mass”! But what is no less concerning is that barely a soul seems to have noticed.
We say “barely” because one person who raised a ruckus about it was the blogger Vox Cantoris. Unfortunately, being Novus Ordo himself (albeit with strong traditional leanings), Vox Cantoris thinks the solution is to appeal to Toronto’s “Cardinal” Thomas Collins to “fix that”. But as long as these Modernist charlatans are acknowledged as legitimate Roman Catholic authorities, the problem is necessarily perpetuated, because this is what gives them all their credibility and thus all their power: people’s belief that they are authorities in the Roman Catholic Church. They are not! They cannot be shepherds in a religion of which they are not a member.
So, as long as people do not proclaim from the housetops that the “Catholic hierarchy” consists of Modernist charlatans, nothing will change. As the history of the Novus Ordo Church proves, things have only gotten worse over time. There may be an occasional speed bump here and there, but overall the Vatican II hierarchy is still on a highway to hell with its adherents — at full throttle.
Our advice: When Gaia calls… better not answer the phone!
That Gaia worship can intrude into the Novus Ordo Liturgy practically unnoticed is further evidence that the “New Mass” is the New-Covenant version of the sacrifice of Cain: “And it came to pass after many days, that Cain offered, of the fruits of the earth, gifts to the Lord. Abel also offered of the firstlings of his flock, and of their fat: and the Lord had respect to Abel, and to his offerings. But to Cain and his offerings he had no respect: and Cain was exceedingly angry, and his countenance fell” (Gen 4:3-5). Is it any wonder that the Modernist “Mass” says in its “preparation of the gifts”:
Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation. Through your goodness we have this bread to offer, which earth has given and human hands have made. It will become for us the bread of life.
…
Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation. Through your goodness we have this wine to offer, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It will become our spiritual drink.
(“Liturgy of the Eucharist”, The Order of Mass, Catholic-Resources.org)
Yes, in the Novus Ordo Missae they actually offer to God that “which earth has given and human hands have made” and the “fruit of the vine and work of human hands” — not the Body and Blood of Christ.
By contrast, the offertory of the Holy Catholic Mass in the Roman rite is as follows:
Accept, O Holy Father, almighty and eternal God, this spotless Host, which I, Thy unworthy servant, offer unto Thee, my living and true God, to atone for my innumerable sins, offenses, and negligences, and for all here present; also for all faithful Christians both living and dead, that it may profit me and them for salvation unto life everlasting. Amen.
…
We offer Thee, O Lord, the chalice of salvation, beseeching Thy clemency, that it may ascend before Thy divine Majesty, as a sweet fragrance, for our salvation, and for that of the whole world. Amen.
Accept us, O Lord, in our spirit of humility and contrition of heart, and grant that the sacrifice which we offer this day in Thy sight may be pleasing to Thee, O Lord God.
Come, O Sanctifier, Almighty and Eternal God, and bless this sacrifice prepared for the glory of Thy holy Name.

Quite a difference between the Modernist happy-meal worship service and the Holy Catholic Mass, huh? For more on that, see the following article on the Motu Inapproprio of Benedict XVI and his attempt to confuse the Novus Ordo service with the Traditional Catholic Mass, which he claimed were merely two “forms” or “expressions” of the “one Roman rite”:
The Gaia scandal demonstrates that the paganism of the Novus Ordo Sect is totally in-your-face now. Folks, they do it because they can. They have the clueless, naive “Catholic” masses sitting in the pews, with no idea about the true Catholic religion, happily writing those checks to support the local Modernist hierarchy. Everything in their religion is about being nice, helping our neighbor, recycling, not judging, not gossiping, and so on. Everything focuses on this world, this earth, our relationship with each other — everything is mainly horizontal.
True, God is invoked at times, but when you look at everything in context, He is really presented as only a nice glorified chap who solves your problems, hears your prayers, and makes you feel good. That’s His job. He is supposed to exist for you, not you for Him, according to the Modernist gospel. Our duty of adoration, praise, thanksgiving, and atonement before Almighty God, the absolute need we have of being justified before Him, the state of our soul, the fact that we were created to be in perpetual union with Him and He is wholly deserving of all of our love and loyalty and obedience — all this is woefully neglected or ignored, if not downright denied, in the Conciliar religion.
Francis is clearly at the forefront of preaching this false gospel, which we have fittingly named the “Gospel of Man”. No wonder he has no answer to the question of the purpose of suffering:
- Francis and the Gospel of Man
- Too Much Hot Air: Francis signs Climate Change Petition
- Francis lies, claims Child’s Question about Suffering has No Answer
All this Modernist pseudo-spiritual trash has been promoted for decades and is a main characteristic of the False Church of Vatican II.
Recently, the “Bishop” of Orlando, Mr. John Noonan, sent out a message on Twitter that demonstrates the entire spiritual depth of the Modernist Sect: On the feast of St. Mary Magdalene (July 22), Noonan (who tweets as @BishopNoonan) wrote: “St. Mary Magdalene was the first to proclaim the good news of the Resurrection to the twelve apostles. What good news can you share today?” (source).
[Face-Palm] The Good News of the Resurrection is now being put on a level with the “good news” we may have for our family and friends, as in, “I passed my driving test!”, or “I got a puppy!”, or “Amazon now has free shipping!” The banality, triteness, and fluff of Novus Ordo spiritual guidance is Chicken Soup for the Soul Lite — and warmed over. Noonan has mastered its art perfectly, which is probably the reason he was chosen by Benedict XVI to become a “bishop”.
We know this is a provocative way to put it, but we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: One is hard-pressed to find people more useless in the world than American Novus Ordo bishops. Noonan, formerly part of the Modernist Archdiocese of Miami (Vice), fits right in with them. (See his fluffy reflection on Laudato Si here.) Perhaps he’ll soon be a “cardinal”.
But we digress.
If a hymn to an earth goddess can be broadcast on television as part of a “Catholic Mass” without anyone at the “archdiocese” noticing or objecting, we may surmise that at this point, they could have hymns to Moloch, Lucifer, or Judas Iscariot and no one would bat an eye. It would just be another addition to the Novus Ordo worship “experience”, and that’s what it’s all about — for them.
But then, we also do not mean to give the impression that all of this is entirely new. Far from it. Back in 1978, “Pope” John Paul I praised a Satanist at a Sunday Angelus address — and no one noticed or cared!
We also recall his successor’s love for paganism, as evidenced, for example, in Assisi, in India, and in Benin. In 1985, John Paul II himself confessed to having worshipped together with animists in Togo: “Particularly striking was the prayer meeting in the sanctuary of Our Lady of Mercy at Lake Togo, where I also prayed for the first time with animists” (General Audience, Aug. 21, 1985, n. 8). We recall the same Bishop Wojtyla’s obsessive-compulsive kissing of asphalt every time he traveled abroad (see picture below). And just recently “Cardinal” Gianfranco Ravasi was caught worshipping the “Pachamama”, another pagan earth goddess, in Argentina.
Detect a pattern yet?
Holy Scripture has numerous passages that would apply here — we will quote only two:
“For you have provoked him who made you, the eternal God, offering sacrifice to devils, and not to God. For you have forgotten God, who brought you up, and you have grieved Jerusalem that nursed you” (Bar 4:7-8); “Thus saith the Lord: Stand ye on the ways, and see and ask for the old paths which is the good way, and walk ye in it: and you shall find refreshment for your souls. And they said: we will not walk” (Jer 6:16).
What more is there to say? Who in this world can still believe that the apostate Vatican II Sect is in fact the Catholic Church, the Bride of Christ, which cannot lead the faithful astray? If you still believe that Francis is a valid Pope, then, pray tell: WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
We are quickly approaching the day when this hilarious parody of Vatican II — on the church’s relationship with Satan —, will be taken by people to be an actual magisterial document of the Novus Ordo Sect.
It might as well be, at this point.
