In his March 2015 Seminary Newsletter (PDF), Bp. Donald Sanborn offers some interesting observations regarding Novus Ordo conservatives, the “hermeneutic of continuity”, the SSPX, Bp. Williamson’s Ex-SSPX, and the apostasy of Vatican II
Someone put on a different record… this one’s broken: “It’s not Vatican II’s Fault!” — It is incredible to see that after all this time, some people still pull out the old “Oh, but the council isn’t at fault” canard… For example, Likoudis & Whitehead did this in 1981, McInerny did it in 1998. There are none so blind as those who refuse to see!
Disgusting new “Papal” Habits: Francis the Nose-Picker — Yet, it’s the theological nose-picking that’s the real problem…
Francis’ Soup Kitchen Gospel is wearing out: Fewer and fewer people are showing up at Francis’ Audiences and Liturgical Functions — This is a microcosm of what’s happening in the Novus Ordo Church: As the focus has been shifting away from Christ, Salvation, Sin, Redemption, and the Four Last Things, and instead zeroes in on humanitarianism, there is simply no more reason for people to go through the trouble of going all the way to the Vatican. For what? To see babies being kissed? To see the Francis Worship in action? No one needs a special humanitarian nose-picking celebrity to keep the soup kitchen running or to tell the world to help the homeless…
That’s it: Francis brought about a Half-Miracle! Yeah, just like Pharaoh’s wizards, remember? “And Aaron took the rod before Pharao, and his servants, and it was turned into a serpent. And Pharao called the wise men and the magicians: and they also by Egyptian enchantments and certain secrets did in like manner. And they every one cast down their rods, and they were turned into serpents: but Aaron’ s rod devoured their rods” (Ex 7:10-12). People, heed the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and know these wicked Modernists by their fruits: “For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect” (Mt 24:24).

@OTSOTA @paulbennett966 Ah, that’s not surprising: you believe that unless something is guaranteed to be infallible, it can contain heresy. But that doesn’t follow. You should know that, logician that you are. And yes, the Church’s Canon Law is infallible. Theology is not philosophy.
