• Bet you didn’t know: SSPX has own Marriage Tribunals in opposition to (what they recognize as) the Holy See and the Vatican II Church — yep, they issue judgments and grant annulments (or declare Novus Ordo ones invalid) and offer a phony “state of necessity” defense. If Francis were the Pope, this would be an act of schism. It’s tragically funny that they end by saying “our judgments … will one day have to be confirmed by the Holy See,” inasmuch as (what they believe is) the Holy See already considers their tribunals and annulments invalid, and in any case, they are conceding here that their judgments on the validity of marriages are merely provisional, but a judgment of a provisional nature could never suffice to allow someone to marry a second time who’s been in a (putative) marriage before. You know, as in, “The Church will have to review this in the future, but for now, consider yourself free to marry.”
