Another gem of Novus Ordo architecture…
No Holy Spirit here:
Welcome to the “Tent” Church of the Unholy Ghost
Alright, everyone, it is the liturgical season of Septuagesima, the annual two-and-a-half-week prelude to Lent. Why not practice some mortification of the eyes?
The so-called Heilig-Geist-Kirche (“Church of the Holy Ghost”) in Ergenzingen, Germany, affords ample opportunity for visual penance, and the title image above is a good start.
The “sacred” building in question is located near the city Rottenburg and part of the diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart, which was once shepherded occupied by the Resurrection denier and general Modernist apostate “Bishop” Walter Kasper (1989-99) before he was promoted to being the Vatican’s chief ecumenist. The current claimant of the episcopal chair there is “Bp.” Gebhard Fürst.
Here is another photo, taken from the diocesan web site. It shows the opposite view:
What? This interior doesn’t raise your mind to heavenly things?
The edifice was built from 1966-67, right after the Second Vatican Council. The diocesan web site explains:
As regards the name, our Holy-Spirit-Church is a witness to the Second Vatican Council, which it was hoped would bring a new Pentecost. As regards its structural design, as “God’s tent among the people” it represents the people of God on pilgrimage through time, who again and again seek their way anew under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

One can probably concede that the same spirit that animated Vatican II also animated the architecture of this building and especially the design of its sanctuary worship space. But then, that’s really not saying much.
Here are some more images, taken from the video embedded further below:
What? Your church doesn’t have a liturgical mirror?
You can probably guess what this is supposed to be.
Hey, flowers are important! You want everything to look pretty, after all.
Beholding this crucifix, who wouldn’t feel drawn to God?
For a complete tour of the inside of this “Catholic church”, please use the following video and enjoy the relaxing music:
Oh, by the way, in case you would like to see Heilig-Geist-Kirche “come alive” liturgically, we can recommend this year’s so-called “Fool’s Mass”, held on Jan. 23 (if you prefer last year’s with reduced attendance, click here):
Who knows what spirit is inhabiting that church.
One thing is pretty certain, though: It’s not the Holy Spirit.
