Showing off his “humility” again…
Francis Flaunts Own Confession
“And when ye pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, that love to stand and pray in the synagogues and corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men: Amen I say to you, they have received their reward.” (Mt 6:5)
It really is pathetic. Novus Ordo shills on the internet will be in ecstasy because their “humble Holy Father” has once again done what he loves to do: show off his supposed humility. Instead of going to confession privately and without being noticed, as a humble man would seek to do lest an occasion of grace become an occasion of sin, Francis decided “spontaneously” to make a confession in St. Peter’s Basilica in front of rolling TV cameras, before entering a confessional to hear confessions himself after conducting a Novus Ordo “penance service” (see news story here).
This is a first for the press: Never before has a papal claimant been seen as a penitent in confession himself. Not that the confession was valid or of any value, but that’s beside the point right now. As the news gets around, watch various “conservative” Novus Ordo bloggers go nuts over this, as the professional blogger “Father” John Zuhlsdorf has already. You can expect Michael Voris in particular to be all over this as well. It is sad and tragic to see just how easy it is for the Novus Ordo charlatans to play their adherents for fools. (For more on Mr. Zuhlsdorf, see our post The Sad Case of “Father Z”.)
What did our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ say about this again?
Take heed that you do not your justice before men, to be seen by them: otherwise you shall not have a reward of your Father who is in heaven. And when ye pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, that love to stand and pray in the synagogues and corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men: Amen I say to you, they have received their reward. But thou when thou shalt pray, enter into thy chamber, and having shut the door, pray to thy Father in secret: and thy Father who seeth in secret will repay thee.
(Matthew 6:1,5-6)
For Francis, this was simply one more in-your-face act of “humility” before an adoring audience. Somehow he seems to never miss an opportunity to have a photographer or a cameraman around when he does something “humble.”
