No kidding…

CDF Prefect Müller says “Door Still Open” for SSPX to rejoin Rome

The prefect of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Destruction of the Faith, the German “Archbishop” Gerhard Ludwig Müller, has quite a sense of humor. After 11 months of chaos under Jorge Bergoglio, he is reminding the traditionalist Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) that the “door is still open” for them to officially rejoin the Vatican II Sect (which the SSPX believes to be the Catholic Church). The Rorate Caeli blog put up a translation of the relevant excerpt of an Austrian news magazine’s interview with Archheretic Muller:

[T]he prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith maintains that a reconciliation with the Society of Saint Pius X is possible.

Archheretic Gerhard Ludwig Mueller

CDF Head Müller pays Tribute to Liberation Theology

“The Latin American ecclesial and theological movement known as ‘Liberation Theology’, which spread to other parts of the world after the Second Vatican Council, should in my opinion be included among the most important currents in 20th century Catholic theology.” This authoritative and glorifying historical evaluation of Liberation Theology did not just come from some ancient South American theologian who is out of touch with the times. The above statement was made by Archbishop Gerhard Ludwig Müller, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith which Ratzinger headed in the 1980’s, after John Paul II appointed him to the post.

The Vatican’s “Guardian of Orthodoxy” is a Heretic himself…

“Archbishop” Gerhard Ludwig Müller Denies Dogma of Perpetual Virginity of Our Lady

Don’t you hate it when that happens? You’re appointed the “guardian of orthodoxy” in the Vatican, and then people discover you’re a heretic yourself. This has happened to “Archbishop” Gerhard Ludwig Muller, appointed to the post by “Pope” Benedict XVI in 2012.

Aside from other denials of dogma, such as Transubstantiation and the Bodily Resurrection, Muller also denies the dogma of the Perpetual Virginity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The semi-traditionalist Tradition in Action has the details:

By contrast, the Catholic Church teaches the following dogmatically and infallibly:

If anyone does not properly and truly confess in accord with the holy Fathers, that the holy Mother of God and ever Virgin and immaculate Mary in the earliest of the ages conceived of the Holy Spirit without seed, namely, God the Word Himself specifically and truly, who was born of God the Father before all ages, and that she incorruptibly bore [Him], her virginity remaining indestructible even after His birth, let him be condemned.

A Heretic Leads the Vatican’s Office of “Orthodoxy”:

A Prefect for the Destruction of the Faith: “Archbishop” Gerhard Ludwig Müller Denies the Dogma of Transubstantiation in 2002 Book on the Mass

The CDF’s Archheretic Gerhard L. Muller

In his 2002 book Die Messe: Quelle Christlichen Lebens (“The Mass: Source of Christian Life”), the head of the Vatican’s so-called Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, “Archbishop” Gerhard Ludwig Muller, appointed to the post by “Pope” Benedict XVI, denies the Catholic dogma of Transubstantiation, defined by the Council of Trent. The Semi-Traditionalist site Tradition In Action provides the evidence. See here:

Against Muller’s heresy, the Council of Trent defined infallibly:

If any one denieth, that, in the sacrament of the most holy Eucharist, are contained truly, really, and substantially, the body and blood together with the soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, and consequently the whole Christ; but saith that He is only therein as in a sign, or in figure, or virtue; let him be anathema.

Quo Vadis, SSPX?

The Society of St. Pius X after the
Lifting of the “Excommunications” of 1988

Bp. Bernard Fellay, SSPX Superior (1994-2018)

“The Bride of Christ cannot be made false to her Spouse: she is incorrupt and modest. She knows but one dwelling, she guards the sanctity of the nuptial chamber chastely and modestly”

(St. Cyprian, cited by Pope Pius XI, Encyclical Mortalium Animos, n. 10)

“We must be on guard against minimizing these [Traditionalist] movements. Without a doubt, they represent a sectarian zealotry that is the antithesis of Catholicity. We cannot resist them too firmly.”

(Joseph Ratzinger, Principles of Catholic Theology [Ignatius Press, 1987],  pp.
