A New Sedevacantist Bishop:
Bp. Daniel Dolan to consecrate Brazilian Fr. Rodrigo da Silva for South America and Mexico
Breaking news out of West Chester, Ohio: Bp. Daniel Dolan has announced his intention to consecrate a bishop on Wednesday, Sep. 29, the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel, at his parish church of St. Gertrude the Great. The bishop-elect is the Brazilian Fr. Rodrigo Henrique Ribeiro da Silva.
The following announcement appears in the most recent parish bulletin of St. Gertrude’s:
It is to Brazil that I am turning for another bishop to take care of our faithful in Mexico and South America, as well as to help assure the apostolic succession in these so uncertain times. God willing, I will consecrate Fr. Rodrigo da Silva a bishop here on the feast of St. Michael the Archangel, September 29. He has to pass a long quarantine in Mexico City in order to enter the United States. (Others, however, are daily flown or driven in, thanks to Uncle Sam.) Please pray that all goes well for this Consecration. Afterwards, the new bishop returns to Brazil and the St. Joseph Seminary he heads.

The upcoming episcopal ordination was announced also on the Portuguese-language sedevacantist blog Controvérsia Católica and, in Spanish, on the sede blog Miles Christi Resístens.
Fr. da Silva is currently the rector of the Seminário São José (St. Joseph’s Seminary) in Juquitiba, state of São Paulo. The seminary web site provides the following biographical entry for Fr. da Silva:
Father Rodrigo Henrique Ribeiro da Silva was born on February 18, 1991 in Recife-Pernambuco. He began his preparation for the priesthood in 2006 at the Minor Seminary of the Archdiocese of Olinda and Recife. He continued his studies in the Traditionalist Benedictine Monastery of Nova Friburgo and at the Seminary São Luís Maria Grignion de Montfort (SAJM) in France. Upon completion of his theological studies, he was ordained a priest by Bishop Richard Nelson Williamson on December 23, 2017 at the Monastery of the Holy Cross in Nova Friburgo.
During his first months of priesthood, he came across the problem of the ‘una cum Mass’ [=Masses offered in union with Francis] and through this and other studies on the nature and properties of Christ’s Church, he became convinced that the only acceptable position in the context of the post-Vatican II apostasy is the sedevacantist position.
Since July 2018 the Reverend Father has been assisted by Bishop Dolan, whom he met in person in October 2018 in Argentina. During his interview with the bishop, Father Rodrigo da Silva introduced to him some candidates for the priesthood and religious life who also adhered to the sedevacantist position. Monsignor Daniel Dolan then proposed the establishment of a pre-seminary in Brazil under the direction of Father Rodrigo, who currently holds the position of Rector of St. Joseph’s Seminary, in addition to maintaining an intense apostolate on behalf of Catholic families with missions and Mass centers spread throughout Brazil.

This biographical note explains that Fr. da Silva comes from a Novus Ordo and recognize-and-resist background, specifically the so-called “SSPX-Resistance” or “SSPX-Marian Corps”, a splinter group that has its origins in the Society of St. Pius X and is affiliated with Bp. Richard Williamson, whose theology is an utter train wreck:

So Fr. da Silva will be made a bishop by Bp. Dolan. For his part, Dolan was ordained a priest by Abp. Marcel Lefebvre on June 29, 1976, and consecrated a bishop by Bp. Mark Pivarunas on Nov. 30, 1993. Bp. Pivarunas had himself been consecrated by Bp. Moises Carmona on Sep. 24, 1991, and Bp. Carmona in turn had been consecrated by the Vietnamese bishop Pierre-Martin Ngo-dinh-Thuc on Oct. 17, 1981. Ngo-dinh-Thuc had been appointed Vicar Apostolic of Vinh Long, Vietnam, by Pope Pius XI on Jan. 8, 1938.
