On Jan. 31, 2025, ‘Pope’ Francis appointed 52-year-old Rev. Johannes Freitag (b. 1972) as auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Graz-Seckau, Austria. He was officially (but invalidly, acc. to traditional Catholic criteria) ordained on May 1 during the Novus Ordo sede vacante period.
