Remember Him?
Vatican Officials Urge Filipino Faithful to Use Images of Christ, Not Francis
Mardi Gras in Rio de Janeiro? No, “Pope Francis” Float during Carnival in Gualeguaychu, Argentina

You know things are bad in the “Francis worship” department when even Vatican officials themselves have to tell people to please adore, a-hem, Jesus Christ and not the “Pope”. Well, it’s easy to get confused, you know. Everything else is always about Francis, so you’ve got to pardon people for mistaking him for God Himself. Christ Jesus has long been thrown out of the Vatican in all but words — our Blessed Lord has been placed on an equal footing with, or even lower than, false gods, and His Gospel has been replaced by an empty naturalist “peace and luv” messagethat preaches empty twaddle about mercy (at the expense of justice), unity (at the expense of Faith), encounter (whatever), and breastfeeding (er — well)…
“Use images of Christ, not the Pope, is the message Vatican officials have been trying to send faithful in the Philippines, who eagerly await Pope Francis, who arrives in their country tomorrow and departs Monday. In a set of instructions for the Pope’s motorcade from Tacloban City to its neighboring municipality of Palo on Saturday, Vatican officials told the Archdiocese of Palo welcomes in the Asian nation should be done without banners bearing his image, according to CBCP News” (reported by Zenit, Jan. 14, 2015).
Above you see the picture of a scary-looking “Pope Float” by the Ara Yevi samba school for carnival in Argentina. It is part of Argentina’s “Pope Carnival”, which lasts until February. A gigantic dove — presumably meant to represent the Holy Ghost — is hovering over a globe, in front of which is placed the head of Jorge Bergoglio (“Pope Francis”), thus giving the whole thing a strikingly similar look to the way the Holy Trinity is typically represented:
A few months ago, when Francis visited Turkey, people were singing a song to him upon his arrival. Ever since Bergoglio’s election in 2013, countless hordes of people have been treating him as though he were divine, bringing to him the sick and the lame, the blind and the deaf, as though the “Pope” — for such he claims to be — possessed special healing powers like our Blessed Lord (see Mk 6:56). For more detail on this, see our post “Humility on Display: The Francis Show”.
So, Francis worship has been a problem from the very beginning. It is a clear manifestation of the spiritual sickness that afflicts this apostate world. In truth, a world that gushes over an apostate blasphemer simply because he kisses babies, makes some “humble” gestures, and talks about helping the poor — such a world is ready for (and deserves) the Antichrist.
Did our Lord not warn us? “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Mt 7:15). “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall seduce many” (Mt 24:11). “For there will rise up false Christs and false prophets, and they shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce (if it were possible) even the elect” (Mk 13:22).
These days Francis is telling everyone to constantly “listen to the spirit”, as though the Holy Ghost had not spoken through Christ to the Apostles, whose teaching we must faithfully keep (cf. Heb 1:2; 2 Jn 1:9; Gal 1:8-9). This is simply Bergoglio’s backdoor way of trying to overturn 1,900 years of Catholic teaching, yet St. John the Apostle counsels us: “Dearly beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits if they be of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. By this is the spirit of God known. Every spirit which confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is of God: And every spirit that dissolveth Jesus, is not of God: and this is Antichrist, of whom you have heard that he cometh, and he is now already in the world” (1 Jn 4:1-3).
Let the blind continue to follow the blind (cf. Mt 15:14); but as for you, continue in the Faith of countless saints and martyrs, as it was handed down until the death of the last known true Pope, Pius XII (d. 1958).
