Reality check for Ratzinger admirers…
There’s Your New Evangelization: Vatican Translator dies a Lutheran because “Cardinal” Ratzinger had told her NOT to Convert
[UPDATE 2/6/14: Accuracy of story confirmed – Spath herself was source of this information]
This past Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, a lady by the name of Sigrid Spath passed away in Rome. Austrian by birth, Spath had worked for the Vatican as a translator of official church documents since the time of Paul VI. She translated Italian, Latin, French, English, Spanish, and Polish texts into German.
Now that she has passed, Vatican Radio has released a brief article on her life and work, and it contains a veritable bombshell. We quote the translation provided by Rorate Caeli:
As Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger charged her personally with the German version of particularly sensitive documents, such as his response to the objections of Protestant theologians to the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification of 1999. It was also Cardinal Ratzinger who, according to her own testimony, advised Sigrid Spath to remain a Protestant, and not to convert to the Catholic Church, as she had considered in a moment of crisis. She could do more for both churches if she remained a Protestant, said the Cardinal. The Carinthian remained in the Protestant Christuskirche in Rome throughout her life.

While this testimony does not really come as a surprise to those who are aware of the true nature and purpose of the deceitful Novus Ordo Sect, it should serve as a serious wake-up call for all those who have deluded themselves into believing that Joseph Ratzinger is a Catholic, even a staunch conservative or traditionalist.
It is furthermore a very important reminder that despite all the disingenuous excuses given (for example, regarding the alleged “true” meaning of the term “proselytize”), it is crystal-clear that the Novus Ordo Religion, especially its highest authorities in the Vatican, do not preach or seek the conversion of non-Catholics to the Catholic Faith. In fact, in his 2005 visit to Cologne, Germany, on the occasion of World Youth Day, Ratzinger-turned-Benedict explicitly stated that the kind of Christian unity sought by his ecumenism “does not mean what could be called ecumenism of the return: that is, to deny and to reject one’s own faith history” (source). Yet this “return to the Catholic Church” business is precisely what Pope Pius XII insisted was the only way to bring about the unity desired by Christ: “…the only true union [is] by the return of the dissidents to the one true Church of Christ” (Instruction Ecclesia Catholica, sec. II, 1949).
The Modernists in the Vatican reject Catholic dogma. They simply do not believe, much less profess, what every Catholic must, namely, that dying united to the Catholic Church is necessary for salvation. The Church infallibly defined on numerous occasions that ouside of her, no one can be saved (see Denz. 469 & 714, for example). Simply put, these people are not Catholics but heretics. For this reason, they are not members of the Catholic Church and cannot hold office in it. They are charlatans!
Mr. Louie Verrecchio made a most fitting comment in a recent conference, saying that perhaps the only thing “new” about the so-called “New Evangelization” is that they never seem to get around to actually evangelizing. What we see here in the example of Mrs. Spath and Joseph Ratzinger is even worse: a direct and positive effort to block a conversion from taking place. Ratzinger is an agent of hell, worse than any mass murderer, for his killing pertains not to bodies but to souls. He is the kind of which Our Blessed Lord warned us: “And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell” (Mt 10:28).
Fear him indeed.
