Williamson spouts Protestant ideas…

Christ or Belial?
Bp. Sanborn refutes Bp. Williamson on the “New Mass”

sanborn-williamson.jpg

Just recently we took Bp. Richard Williamson to task for his ludicrous argumentation that the “New Mass” of the Vatican II Sect can licitly be attended by Catholics under certain restrictive circumstances. As we demonstrated in our post and video, the former SSPX bishop’s argumentation was lacking in consistency and, most of all, in traditional Catholic theological principles. Williamson based his entire argumentation on the Modernist, Subjectivist, and Protestant idea that licit attendance at Holy Mass is determined by what it does for the believer, rather than whether it is the true worship of God by the Catholic Church.

Bishop Williamson: Novus Ordo “Mass” is Bad but OK if it “Nourishes your Faith”

We have long criticized the absurd, non-Catholic, and principle-less “theology” of the Lefebvrist Society of St. Pius X. How poor and bizarre it really is has just been demonstrated once again by none other than Bishop Richard Williamson, an Englishman consecrated by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in 1988.

Although at this point no longer a part of the official SSPX, he is still very much part of the semi-traditionalist “resistance” against the Modernist Vatican that recognizes Francis and his five predecessors of infelicitous memory as legitimate — yet entirely ignorable — Roman Catholic Popes.

SSPX Bp. Fellay:

bp-fellay.jpg

“We are on the Eve of Important Events”

The endless saga of talks and negotiations between the Lefebvrist Society of St. Pius X and the Modernist Vatican II Church continues. In late June, Bp. Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the SSPX, gave an interview to the French publication Present, the text of which was published in English by the SSPX U.S. District. You can read the interview in full at this link:

This interview comes on the heels of Bp. Fellay’s revelation that Rome has appointed him canonical judge of SSPX priests, and several months after the state of Argentina — the home country of Jorge Bergoglio, “Pope” Francis — recognized the Society of St.

St. Robert Bellarmine Refutes the Anti-Sedevacantists

As we had announced in one of our News Digests recently, the monumental theological work De Romano Pontifice(“On the Roman Pontiff”) of Cardinal St. Robert Bellarmine, S.J., has now been translated into English, for the first time ever. The translator is Mr. Ryan Grant of Mediatrix Press, and the English-speaking world owes him a tremendous amount of gratitude.

The English On the Roman Pontiff is being published in two volumes, with the first volume containing Books I and II, and the second volume containing Books III, IV, and V.

“Bishop” Schneider: “After Francis’ Pontificate there could be Judgments about his Behavior,” denounces “Cardinal” Kasper for “Lying to Souls”

athanasius-schneider4.jpg

For months now we’ve been predicting that if things continue as they have been going, there will eventually be a schism within the Novus Ordo Sect — essentially a division of the conservative Ratzinger Modernists versus the progressive Bergoglio Modernists. In an exclusive interview with French journalist and blogger Jeanne Smits, Athanasius Schneider, a “conservative” Novus Ordo auxiliary “bishop” in Kazakhstan, sounds off on Francis, Kasper, and the controversial Synod in Rome.

Below we present an unauthorized translation of several highlights of this interview, which was released on June 5, 2015.

Bp. Bernard Fellay: “I was appointed by Rome to make Canonical Church Judgements on SSPX Priests”

[UPDATE 04-JUN-2015: Vatican confirms appointment of Bp. Fellay to judge SSPX priests]

The Superior General of the Society of St. Pius X, Bp. Bernard Fellay, gave a sermon at Our Lady of the Angels church in Arcadia, California, on May 10, 2015. The video of the entire 1-hour sermon is given below. At 27:10 into the talk, he starts speaking about the SSPX’s situation with Rome. At the 34:36 mark, the juicy part begins: Fellay speaks about how “Rome” (by that he means the entity he believes to be the Holy See) is treating the SSPX in contradictory fashion.

Volume 1: The Papacy

Edited by Rev. Anthony Cekada

The Anti-Modernist Reader is a multi-volume anthology of articles written by several sedevacantist clerics since the 1990s, many of which have been published at TraditionalMass.org. The essays are arranged topically, with each volume being dedicated to a particular topic. This first volume, now published, deals with the divinely-established office of the papacy. Future volumes will include material on the Holy Mass, on the Sacraments, on Sedevacantism, and more.

To give you an introduction to this series and provide some of the background of how the idea for this anthology came about, our friends at Restoration Radio have put together a short broadcast, free of charge, discussing The Anti-Modernist Reader with its editor and co-author: CLICK HERE TO LISTEN.

The Question of a Heretical Pope considered by the First Vatican Council

[See also our Follow-Up Post here]

While certain self-styled “traditionalists” and “real Catholics” are currently pushing the attractive and convenient but utterly false and disastrous idea that the Catholic Church had Popes in her history who were heretics but were still valid Popes, we at Novus Ordo Watch like to go by actual Church teaching and verifiable facts.

Besides such blowhards as Michael Voris (at 5:54 here) and Eric Gajewski (here), one of the biggest loudmouths out there who is pushing this bewildering error of “heretical but valid Popes” is the anonymous English blogger Mundabor, whom we recently gave a good spanking for his train wreck of a theological analysis on the Novus Ordo Missae.

Novus Ordo Missae: The Modernist Worship Service in Action

If you want to have a stellar example of the warped theology and mental gymnastics you have to embrace in Neo-Traditionalist Wonderland, look no further than the issues being discussed by Mundabor and Louie Verrecchio on whether the “New Mass” (Novus Ordo Missae of Paul VI) is evil and/or sinful to attend. There we have two individuals who use Catholic principles very selectively and/or turn a blind eye to what is right in front of them, in order not to have to embrace that which would otherwise follow necessarily: Sedevacantism.

Resistance Madness: A Sedevacantist looks at Bp. Williamson’s Justification for Consecrating Bp. Faure

williamson-faure-consecration2.jpg

We do not typically simply republish other people’s blog posts, but in this case, we will make an exception as the post shows the anti-Catholic ideas inherent in the justifications given by Bp. Richard Williamson for his recent episcopal consecration of Bp. Jean-Michel Faure, both formerly with the Society of St. Pius X.

The following is a repost from the blog Introibo ad Altare Dei. With a few minor exceptions, all formatting has been retained as in the original post, which is entitled Pater Noster?

Neo-Traditionalist ‘Resistance’ gets a new Bishop, SSPX condemns, Vatican expected to announce Excommunication

The do-your-own-thing religion of Neo-Traditionalism, more specifically the camp of the “really-really-bad Resistance trads” (i.e. those who split from the SSPX because the SSPX was no longer SSPX enough), has gotten a new bishop: Fr. Jean-Michel Faure, 73, was consecrated on March 19, 2015, by Bp. Richard Williamson, 75, in Nova Friburgo, Brazil, near Rio de Janeiro. (We had blogged on the impending consecration here.)

Williamson is one of the original four bishops consecrated by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in Econe, Switzerland, on June 30, 1988 (see video here), which was the official date of the beginning of what has come to be known as the “Lefebvre schism” in the Novus Ordo Church.

Episcopal Consecration on March 19

Former SSPX Bp. Richard Williamson to
Consecrate Fr. Jean-Michel Faure a Bishop

williamson-faure.jpg

At age 73, Fr. Faure, right, is only two years younger than his consecrator.

The following report is a repost from the Novus Ordo / indult Rorate Caeli web site (original post here):

It was only a matter of time. Ever since Bishop Richard Williamson eventually caused the Society of Saint Pius X (FSSPX / SSPX) to force his own expulsion from that Society in 2012, the watch has been on for him to consecrate one or more bishops. This became even more inevitable as he has failed to recruit any significant number of clergy or faithful away from the SSPX in a so-called “Resistance” attempt.

“This Church deserves this Pope…”

Alessandro Gnocchi:

“Bergoglio is Destroying the Catholic Church… He is Not Catholic”

The following recent story seems to have fallen through the cracks of the usual English-speaking Novus Ordo and “traditionalist” blogs and web sites, so we’re happy to provide it here.

Italian author Alessandro Gnocchi (b. 1959) writes a weekly column called Fuori Moda (“Old-Fashioned”) for the Riscossa Cristiana web site, in which he answers questions people send him. In the February 4, 2015 installment, Gnocchi responds to a lady named Lisetta, who asks, with all the evidence he has provided about “Pope” Francis’ denial of Catholic truths, would it not be easier to “say what [Antonio] Socci says” about Francis, namely, that Jorge Bergoglio is not in fact a valid Pope (see here)?

Twelve Inconvenient Questions for the Society of Saint Pius X

We challenge the clergy and/or lay faithful of the Society of St. Pius X to answer the following questions. All questions ought to be answered, insofar as applicable, with proof from authoritative Catholic magisterial sources, such as papal encyclicals, decrees of ecumenical councils, or approved catechisms and theological manuals, before the death of Pope Pius XII (1958). Novel concepts, such as “partial communion” or “Eternal Rome vs. Today’s Rome”, are not acceptable, as they have no foundation in Catholic teaching. In addition, anyone answering these questions ought not to seek refuge in vague formulations or ambiguous expressions: “But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil” (Mt 5:37).
