A Look at St. Paul’s Discourse to the Athenians
In Chapter 17 of the Acts of the Apostles, we find St. Paul discoursing with the pagan inhabitants of Athens, Greece. The city is immersed in idolatry, and the holy Apostle notices an altar dedicated “to the unknown god”. He uses this as a cue to preach to the Athenians the true God, whom indeed they do not yet know but are apparently disposed, however confusedly, to worship.

A shofar is the horn of an animal, usually a ram, that is used as a wind instrument. It has its origins in the Old Testament, going back as far as the book of Exodus: “When the trumpet shall begin to sound, then let them go up into the mount” (Ex 19:13b).

Three Novus Ordo Cardinals attend Syncretistic Pagan Worship Ceremony in Panama
On Oct. 29, 2022, the Italian web site La Nuova Bussola Quotidiana, which is the Italian edition of Daily Compass, reported on an interesting incident that took place in Panama in connection with the seventh Continental Symposium on Indian Theology, which had been held from Oct. 3-8.
But first, some background regarding the conference itself. Vatican News explains:
About 50 pastoral agents, bishops responsible for indigenous pastoral care, religious, lay people and indigenous theologians and delegates from their communities will reflect on the “Holy Spirit and the native peoples”, theme of the meeting, which aims to continue the path of deepening the doctrinal contents of Indian theology, to advance in its clarification in the light of the Word of God and the Magisterium of the Church.

Kentucky Trappists receive Buddhist Monks
The famous Abbey of Gethsemani near Bardstown, Kentucky, had some special guests the other day.
The Trappist Novus Ordo monks were visited not only by “Buddhist friends and guests”, as they write on their official web site, but very specifically by “His Eminence” Kundeling Tatsak Rinpoche. In case the name doesn’t sound familiar, the Trappists inform us that he is “not merely a teacher, but an emanation of Manjushri, the Wisdom Buddha, the current incarnation of a long and renowned lineage.” Can’t beat that!

Today the seventh so-called Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions concluded in Kazakhstan. The most prominent participant, no doubt, was Jorge Bergoglio, the Jesuit apostate from Buenos Aires who has been going by the stage name “Pope Francis” since moving into the Vatican guest house nine years ago.
