Rappin' the Rosary:
53 Beads on a String
"D-Major/The Apologist"
is the stage name of a performer of "Catholic rap music" such as is
heard above. His bio states that he had been in a rap group before
entering to the Novus Ordo church (by the way, he actually has an album
entitled Novus Ordo), and he then decided to use that kind of
music "as a means to reach many youth who like rap music but are
exposed to the bad lyrics of the popular secular songs." The trouble
with that approach, like with Christian heavy metal bands, is that even
when given good lyrics, there is nothing that can be done to make
rehabilitate the wretched music, leaving the medium and the message at
odds. Perhaps D-Major realizes this, because he beneath the main track
in his songs he's added music by classical composers including Mozart,
Liszt and Beethoven. Predictably, the experiment is a total failure, the
aural equivalent of mixing oil and water. One other thing that sets this
music apart from many of its counterparts is the theology, which is
decidedly along traditional lines. When one listens to the lyrics or
read song titles, one encounters such themes as: the Rosary, the
Beatific Vision, the Holy Souls in Purgatory, pro-Latin (language) and
anti-Planned Parenthood sentiments. So, D-Major's on the right track in
many respects. Now if he can only fix his music and church affiliation.

SSPX challenges 'papal' ultimatum
"A breakaway traditionalist group has told the Vatican it cannot comply
with a papal ultimatum on returning to the Roman Catholic Church because
it skirts key issues of their dispute, a spokesman said on Friday.
Bishop Bernard Fellay, head of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX)
opposed to Church reforms introduced in the 1960s, said there must be an
agreement on doctrinal differences before any accord could be possible,
Rev. Alain Lorans said."
NOW Comments:
It is refreshing to read that Bp. Fellay and the Society are not falling
for this carefully laid stratagem of Modernist Rome, an offer made with
only one thing in mind: Ensnare the SSPX. What isn't so
refreshing is the continuing recognition of authority from a source the
Society has rightly condemned as Modernist (the term 'Modernist Rome'
itself originated with the late founder of the SSPX, Archbishop Marcel
Lefebvre) on many occasions. It is intrinsically impossible to be
simultaneously Catholic and Modernist, and to argue for such a
possibility is to deny the philosophical principle known as the law of
noncontradiction. Of course, equally absurd is the use of the term
ultimatum ( that is, a demand backed by a threat) in a situation
where Benedict XVI's establishment is incapable of threatening the SSPX,
given that that group already was "excommunicated" from the Novus Ordo
sect 20 years ago. Difficult to apply any sanctions to top that
one.
Hint: Did Hans Küng reject his past?
Did 'Pope' Ratzinger ever reject his progressivist past?
"Today, when many conservatives believe that Benedict XVI has became a
strong advocate of Church tradition, the question is more opportune than
ever. Did he abjure his previous Progressivism? We would like to know,
since we have some eloquent evidence to the contrary…."
NOW Comments:
On the linked page please note the strange, hideous crucifix shown in
the photo on the left of the bottom row. Yet Ratzinger stands just a few
feet away from it smiling, looking very comfortable, very much part of
that sacrilegious milieu.
The
real 'Manchurian Candidate'?
Former 'Hanoi Hilton' jailer endorses McCain
"John McCain has an unusual endorsement — from the
Vietnamese jailer who says he
held him captive for about five years as a POW and
now considers him a friend.
'If I were an American voter, I would vote
for Mr. John McCain,' Tran Trong Duyet said Friday, sitting in his living
room in the northern city of Haiphong, surrounded by black-and-white
photos of a much-younger version of himself and former Vietnam War
prisoners."
NOW Comments: Duyet's endorsement will come as a surprise—even
a shock—to
many Americans, but it shouldn't. After McCain was elected to the
Senate, his conduct with his Communist captors, as well as with the
families of other POWs and MIAs was inexplicable and reprehensible—very
friendly towards the former and very hostile towards the latter. One
expert on brainwashing who watched McCain's actions at POW/MIA hearings
in 1992, which included a warm embrace for Col. Bui Tin (above photo),
the North Vietnamese officer who interrogated McCain and other POWs,
gave a startling reaction to McCain's behavior:
In 1949 Dr. Andrew Salter
authored Conditioned Reflex Therapy, a
pioneering work in the field of psychoanalysis.
Ten years later, as Richard Condon was writing
The Manchurian Candidate,
he asked Dr. Salter to help "design" the
brainwashed character for the book and
subsequent movie.
More than 40 years
later, in 1992, during the C-SPAN broadcasts of
the Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs,
Dr. Salter watched the hearings from his New
York City apartment. Salter became fascinated
with McCain's overly aggressive and angry
behavior toward witnesses, especially family
members of men still missing in action. After a
few hours he called a friend telling her, "the
signs are all there, I'm afraid Senator John
McCain has been brainwashed." (Cited from
John McCain: The Manchurian Candidate connection.)
This revelation, which is reinforced by
much more evidence in the pages linked below, should be enough reason
for Catholics to look beyond the two major parties for a presidential
candidate. Clearly, the election of either McCain and Obama will be
calamitous for our nation, as neither appears to represent a lesser
evil. Certainly, a better option is to vote for a third party candidate.
Since Novus Ordo Watch is not a political site, we don't endorse anyone,
but here is a
link to a list of such candidates, most of whom we positively
never would endorse (note that links to other websites can also be
found there).

St. Paul 'archdiocese halts church's annual 'gay' pride
prayers
"A Roman Catholic Church decision to prohibit a Minneapolis gay
pride prayer service has many in the gay community up in arms, leading
activists to call the action a troubling and telling sign from the Twin
Cities' new archbishop.
"The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis recently told staff members
at St. Joan of Arc Church they could not hold their annual gay pride
prayer service planned for Wednesday — an event held for several years
in conjunction with the annual Twin Cities Pride Celebration,
parishioners said. Instead, the archdiocese suggested a 'peace' service
with no mention of rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
people."
NOW Comments:
Some traditionally-minded Novus Ordo websites, such as The Remnant,
have hailed this action as "courageous," while overlooking the serious
fact that St. Joan of Arc is still allowed to be very much a
GLBT-friendly congregation (as is evidenced by this page found on the
church's website:

"'Ethical monotheism' assures the inviolability of human life? What
about Christ the King? Ah, there can be no mention of Him and His Sacred
Rights in a meeting with "ethical monotheists" such as those to be found
in the ranks of Talmudic Judaism. No one can deny the Sacred Rights of
Christ the King and believe Himself to His faithful disciple. The civil
state has the obligation to recognize the true Faith and to help to
foster those conditions in which its citizens will be better able to
sanctity and to save their souls as members of the true Church, outside
of which there is no salvation--and without which there is no hope of a
just social order."

Vatican proposal to 'regularize' SSPX?
"The Italian daily

reports that Pope Benedict XVI has approved an offer to the Society of
St. Pius X (SSPX) that could heal the breach between the Holy See and
the traditionalist group. The Vatican’s offer requires a response from

Hoyos, the president of the Ecclesia Dei Commission, during a recent

have persisted for months."

recent working visit to the country. The three-member delegation led

NOW Comments: What about John and Mary Catholic having
a right to expect the prayers to be doctrinally sound? What about them
having a right to a liturgy that's reverent and of unquestioned
validity? What about having a right to church leaders who deeply and
sincerely care about their flocks' eternal salvation? Of course none of

What if Obama is defeated? The whole world and most African Americans

point is that racism permeates American society and hides itself under
many different disguises. The nomination of an African-American

Polish 'friar' runs sex website "Having an o****** is
like going to heaven, according to a Polish Capuchin monk (sic), who has
set up a website to assist couples in improving their lovemaking."
NOW Comments:
The stated purpose of the website (called "The Act of Love" in its
English version) is to assist "married couples that arrange their sexual
life according to the teaching of the Catholic Church," though it notes
that besides couples, "anyone else…will be able to find
information," as well. The trouble is the site extols the physical
pleasure of the marital act to such an extent that it obscures the
spiritual aspect and primary aim of procreation (true, there are
mentions of God's role and of sexual morality, but these are downplayed
to such an extent as to be mere asides). Of course, the "anyone else" will
include unmarried teens, who can easily be led into promiscuity by
reading "tips on how to achieve super o******s." One particularly bizarre
feature of the site is the positive referencing of American
"sexologists"
Masters and
Johnson, who for research voyeuristically observed couples (both
heterosexual and homosexual) and individuals performing immoral sex acts
in a laboratory setting. Meanwhile in Austria, a different form of
corrupting youth was going on in Vienna under the auspices of
'Cardinal' Christoph von Schonborn, friend and colleague of Benedict XV.
The event was promoted as harmless fun, but the very name openly evoked
something far less innocent:
whipped cream orgy.

"The selective dispensing (or redefining) of the dogmatic decrees
and papal pronouncements of the Second Millennium is one of fundamental
building blocks of Modernism. It is at the heart of 'interreligious

Orthodox. Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI is using his General Audience
talks each Wednesday to use his New Theology to deconstruct the Fathers
of the Church in order to make them witnesses in behalf of conciliarism,
which is why the Scholasticism of the Second Millennium, which
Ratzinger/Benedict believes has obscured the "true" meaning of the
Fathers, must be jettisoned in perfect accord with the precepts of the
New Theology condemned by Pope Pius XII in Humani Generis, August 12,
