Novus Ordo report card: 1267 U.S. schools
closed since 2000
NOW Comments:
The shaky economy may be a factor in some school closings,
but there's way more to it than that. First, of course, there's the
post-Vatican II shift away from using nuns as teachers, a change that is
the consequence of the ever dwindling number of those in the religious
life (the video is misleading in this respect it's almost as though they
sought out one of the very few Novus Ordo schools left that still has
sisters in habits teaching, to give the report a Catholic feel). While
pre-Conciliar schools could keep tuition down because their faculty was
comprised of teachers who had taken a vow of poverty, the schools of the
counterfeit church now must typically pay salaries to lay teachers with
families. Factor in the gigantic financial hit taken by "dioceses" as a
result of settlements to clergy sex abuse cases, and it's clear that the
Novus Ordo educational system is in utter shambles…just
as planned.
CNN
treats 'Fr.' Pfleger as less controversial than TV 'priest'
"Two Catholic priests who appeared as guests during back-to-back
segments on Thursday’s No Bias, No Bull program were treated noticeably
differently by CNN’s on-air personalities. Father Michael Pfleger of the
Archdiocese of Chicago, who is best known for his racially-charged
rhetoric against Hillary Clinton during the 2008 Democratic presidential
race, as well as his defense of former Obama pastor Reverend Jeremiah
Wright, faced only a couple of pointed questions, most notably about his
recent decision to fly an American flag upside-down. In the following
segment, Father Mitch Pacwa of the orthodox Catholic TV network EWTN
faced a more skeptical and sustained line of questioning from the CNN
panel about the practice of priestly celibacy."
'Progressives' are good guys; bad guys are
pro-Tradition
Vatican newspaper: 'Angels and Demons' is harmless
entertainment
"The newly premiered movie 'Angels and Demons' is little more than
'harmless entertainment,' with many factual errors and little cultural
value, according to the Vatican newspaper. Two dispassionate articles in
L'Osservatore Romano May 7 may disappoint the film's promoters,
who had sought a conflict with the Vatican of the type that surrounded
'The Da Vinci Code' in 2006. Both films are based on books by author Dan
Brown."
No kidding! When did you find out?
'Abp' Burke: Obama advancing anti-life,
anti-family agenda
"A powerful Catholic leader on Friday accused President Barack Obama of
pushing an anti-life, anti-family agenda and called Notre Dame's
invitation for him to speak scandalous. Archbishop Raymond Burke, the
first American to lead the Vatican supreme court, said Catholic
universities should not give a platform, let alone honor, 'those who
teach and act publicly against the moral law.'"
NOW Comments:
Really it's no fair of Burke to be singling out universities. If he
wants to be heaping blame (and there's plenty to go around), he needs
first to point the finger at his brother "bishops" at the United States
Conference of Catholic Bishops, who gave voters the green light to cast
their ballots for an Obama, and, then at New York's "Cardinal" Edward
Egan, who invited the antichrist to the annual Al Smith Dinner (it was
there that the egomaniacal candidate irreverently joked about his
"Messianic" image, declaring: "Contrary to the rumors you have
heard, I was not born in a manger. I
was actually born on Krypton and sent here by my father, Jor-el, to save
the planet Earth."). But even more Burke should step out
of his cushy Rome office and stroll down the hallway to read the riot
act to his boss, Benedict XVI, who extended cordial congratulations
to this proponent of infanticide at the time of Obama's inauguration. In
the final analysis, these schools are simply following the example of
the Novus Ordo hierarchy, which makes Burke's criticism quite hollow.

Steamy beach pics land 'Fr. Oprah'
In
hot water
"Faithful supporters of Father Alberto Cutié have
expressed shock and disbelief after photos of the celebrity priest in a
Spanish language magazine showed him kissing and fondling a woman on
Miami Beach, CBS Station WFOR-TV reports."
NOW Comments:
The scandal of "Fr." Cutié (pronounced koo-tee-AY) is a tough blow for
the Conciliar Church. The cleancut, charismatic "priest" was a veritable poster
boy for recruiting new seminarians. He's been the host of popular
television and radio shows and a nationally syndicated columnist, where
he would impart love and relationship advice much in the style of Oprah
Winfrey. In other words, not using the opportunity in a way befitting a
priest. A true Catholic priest would remind his audience of the
supreme sacrifice Jesus Christ made for love of them and their need to
reciprocate that love, of the Blessed Virgin's maternal care for us and
the tender devotion we should have for so good a mother, of the
importance of the Sacraments, of their obligations to God and neighbor,
of the horror of sin and the Last Four Things, of the Social Kingship of
Christ and war being waged against Him and His Church, and so on. None
of that with "Fr. Oprah," whose pop psychology approach emphasizes how
special and entitled to happiness people are, and what
they need to do to empower their relationships. In another words,
it focused on them and not God
―sure,
the Almighty is referenced along the way, even Christ's love for us, but
only in passing, much like one would expect from Oprah or Obama. Cutié's
advice provides little in the way of deep insights, rather just so many
shallow, shopworn platitudes, about relationships, as seen in this
interview and video clip from his program
.
And yet by Novus Ordo standards he's considered to be very conservative,
very much "by the book." While temptations of this sort are nothing new,
of course, but dalliance with a bikinied divorcee illustrates much more
than than just the fall from grace of a golden boy; it graphically
exposes the moral, doctrinal and disciplinary bankruptcy at the heart of
the counterfeit church for which he's employed. One can start with the
malformation for the priesthood he received at seminary, in which
Original Sin and its effects are for all intentions are ignored. So,
despite what passed to many as his seeming orthodoxy, there is beneath
it a doctrinal foundation of sand. Add the lack of much-needed graces in
his doubtfully valid ordination and the "new Mass" he celebrates, and
the weaknesses intensify. Oh, and then there's the South Florida factor.
Catholics who had the misfortune to step into a Novus Ordo church near a
beach can attest to seeing women attending "Mass" in short shorts,
halter tops or beach robes. This lack of modesty is no surprise. This
is, after all, the Church of John Paul II and his "Theology of the
Body," so the notion that one can not have chastity without decency is
something that never dawns on them. And why should it? No Original
Sin, remember? In other words, all the ingredients for disaster
were there for the much fawned over Cutié. None of which excuses what he
did, but it does put it in more perspective and perhaps mitigates it
slightly (though he did take that vow of chastity). There soon
will be another chapter in this sordid drama. It turns out that earlier
in the year the popular "priest" revealed on his show his desire to
marry and have a family. In other words, on the heels of this scandal no
doubt there will be an renewed attack on celibacy and push for married
clergy, possibly led by none other than the disgraced antihero, "Fr."
Alberto Cutié. Count on it.

Vermont abuse priest removed from
priesthood by Vatican
"A former Roman Catholic priest who lives in Westfield and
is accused of sexual abuse in Vermont, Indiana and eastern Massachusetts
has been officially removed from the priesthood by the Vatican,
according to church officials."
Background profile:
Rev. Edward O.
Paquette
NOW Comments: This is the sort of news that will thrill
conservatives in the Novus Ordo Church. "See," they'll exclaim, "The
Pope is really cracking down!" Yes, it looks like that, until you look
at it in the proper context. To being with, Fr. Paquette is 81 years
old, so it's not like he has an active ministry anyway. While it's true
he could pose a problem if he gets near children, still, the chances of
that are far more remote than with the scores of clergy half his age who
are still involved in the daily affairs of churches. So this amounts to
a token "defrocking." Meanwhile, someone like "Cardinal" Bernard
Law, not only isn't punished, but enjoys a cushy job in Modernist Rome,
despite knowingly protecting notorious serial pedophiles like
Frs. John Geoghan and Paul Shanley,
during his tenure as "Archbishop" of Boston. And there are many
Bernard Laws out there, who still are in the good graces of "Pope"
Ratzinger, but whose crimes merit swift justice. So in the end,
Paquette's sacking is just so much smoke and mirrors, window dressing in
the charnel house known as the Conciliar Church."
Notre Dame, are you listening?
Obama cuts prayer-day service
"President Obama is distancing himself from the National Day of Prayer
by nixing a formal early morning service and not attending a large
Catholic prayer breakfast the following morning."
NOW Comments:
This is hardly surprising, of course, considering who's involved.
Obama's press secretary is quoted as saying that the President will pray
privately as he does everyday. (But to which god? Baal,
perhaps, who demanded infant sacrifice from his followers?). The message
here shows that Obama prayer believes the role of prayer in the pubic
life should be minimized, so his signing of the proclamation amounts to
a formality. Again, not surprising coming from someone who cares little
for religion, using it only as a political tool.
And
The Remnant's huge omission
The Darwin delusion
"For more than a generation in the fourth century, the dogmatic teaching
of the Council of Nicea on the divinity of Christ was misinterpreted and
perverted so that the majority of Catholic bishops tolerated or taught a
false Christology. Something similar is happening in our time in regard
to the Magisterial teaching on creation. The dogmatic teaching on
creation of the Fourth Lateran Council—as understood for 600 years by
the foremost commentators of the Catholic Church, including Doctors of
the Church like St. Lawrence of Brindisi—has been given a new, deviant
interpretation so as to make it compatible with evolution. On the
pretext that the natural sciences confirm the evolutionary hypothesis,
the fundamental Catholic doctrines of creation and Original Sin have
been set aside—in spite of the fact that breakthroughs in 21st century
natural science have fully exposed the bankruptcy of the evolutionary
hypothesis."
NOW Comments:
"Krao," the girl depicted in the poster as "the perfect specimen of the
step between man and monkey," was exhibited in Britain and the United
States in the late 1800s. Many in the public were duped into believing
the hype, led by popular scientific magazines, including Scientific
American, which described the child as an evolutionary throwback. In
truth, she simply suffered from hypertrichosis universalis, a
extremely rare condition in which a person's body is covered with hair.
And far from being any sort of "missing link," she had above average
intelligence and grew to be a well-read woman fluent in English, French
and German. (SeeNational Geographic
and the Stone Age swindle?) Krao
joins a long list of "real" missing links down through the years,
including such frauds as the Piltdown Man, that "true believers" in the
pro-Darwin camp have latched onto, only to subsequently discard, as the
final proof of the theory of evolution.
Given that the missing link is a
linchpin for what was a standard hypothesis of this materialistic creed
for decades―phyletic
gradualism, this desperate search is understandable. The
utter failure in this hunt for a transitional form led to some major
revisionism in order to explain it away, most notably as Stephen Jay
Gould's hypothesis of rapid change known as punctuated equilibrium,
which handily asserts that no transitional forms exist per se.
(See
What's a
Missing Link?)
Revisionism of a different sort was introduced in the Catholic Church
over half a century ago when the Jesuit priest, Pierre Teilhard de
Chardin (a Vatican II muse) pushed his pantheistic theories of
"Catholic" evolution and was indirectly condemned by Pope Pius XII in
his 1950 encyclical,
Humani Generis,
where he attacked "fictitious tenets of evolution which repudiate
all that is absolute, firm and immutable.…"
Similarly, as Remnant correspondent Peter Wilders writes
in "The Darwin Delusion," the Catholic Faith has been sabotaged by
errors concerning the origins of man and the universe, introduced under
the guise of natural science." Wilders rightly salutes those Novus
Ordo scientists who have taken a public stand against the errors in the
form of conferences held in Rome, the most recent them occurring in Rome
and entitled “Scientific Critique of Evolution,” but what he
doesn't say is just as important and is an omission in line with The
Remnant's policy of being apologists for Benedict XVI, whom it
ridiculously holds up as some champion of the Faith.
Specifically, Wilders doesn't explain why the “Scientific
Critique of Evolution” conference took place (or if he did, it was
edited out by publisher Michael Matt or one of his subordinates), a key
detail that would fly in the face of The Remnant's calculated
cover-up for "Pope" Ratzinger. The reason for the conference was because
Modernist Rome (read Ratzinger) held a conference of it's own
marking―are
you ready for this?―the
150th anniversary of the publication of On the Origin of
Species, a key text advancing evolution by Charles Darwin (right,
photo from about the time of the book's release).
One of the features of the Vatican-sponsored symposium was the zealous
measures it took to keep out anti-evolutionists, whose objections to
Darwinism would tend, shall we say, to dampen the festivities. In
fact, in one instance a doctor who dared challenge the lack of
transitional forms was silenced, as can be seen
here.
In a report of the proceedings, we read that no sooner then the
dissenter raise the issue: "Someone in the hall can be heard saying
'turn the microphone off…'”
How fitting that those words be heard at this Conciliar event, for it
eerily echoes an infamous incident at Vatican II. Alfredo Cardinal
Ottaviani, Secretary of the Holy Office, spoke out in eloquent defense
of the Traditional Latin Mass against what he saw as liturgical
revolution. He spoke without notes and was so carried away with his
subject that he exceeded the ten-minute limit on speeches. Rather then
respect his position, which was second to the Pope,
the revolutionaries ordered his
microphone to be shut off, thus symbolically cutting off the voice
of Catholic Tradition from being heard. Ratzinger, who was one of the
suit-and-tie revolutionaries at the Council he defends to this day, did
not say a word in defense of the anti-Darwinist.
But, then, why should he? After all, he was the one who okayed the
Darwin love-in to begin with. That's understandable. What isn't
understandable is why The Remnant, which fashions itself as a
voice of Catholic Tradition, chose to completely pass over Benedict XVI's ties to
the pro-evolutionist event.
Mealy-mouth

Wuerl: Why I won't deny Pelosi
communion
"[Wuerl's] beyond sorry to see Communion wielded as a weapon: 'That's
the new way now to make your point. We never – the Church just didn't
use Communion this way. It wasn't a part of the way we do things, and it
wasn't a way we
convinced Catholic politicians to appropriate the faith and live it and
apply it; the challenge has always been to
convince people.'' Whereas sanctioning them, in his view, has the
opposite effect."
NOW Comments:
Wuerl's rationalization of his actions strikes out however one chooses
to challenge them. New way to make a point? Well, if he's basing his
argument solely on precedent that comes after Vatican II, perhaps, but
since he ostensibly represents the Catholic Church, there has
been a policy of withholding Holy Communion from unrepentant public
sinners from the Church's inception, a policy that will endure until the
Judgment Day. Of course, Wuerl doesn't see a politician's promotion of
abortion through taxpayers' dollars as sin at all, but as an activity,
however unpleasant, that isn't that much of a concern. What's a few more
million slaughtered unborn babies? To Wuerl, apparently not something to
be overly concerned about, certainly not enough to keep someone from
receiving communion in the churches he oversees. True, we likely aren't
talking about real Holy Communion (Wuerl was validly ordained in
1940, but exclusively says the doubtful "new Mass"), which eliminates
the element of direct sacrilege, but the intent is nonetheless evil.
Disgusting? Yes, but very telling, as well, about the kind of men
Benedict XVI elevates to the highest posts in the Conciliar
Church…elevates, and then allows to thrive at those posts regardless
of what public scandals they may perpetrate.
From Christ or Chaos
Urbanely Accepting Evil
"One of the greatest triumphs of the devil is to convince human beings
that he does not exist. The devil is deliriously happy when a human
being denies his existence as he knows that such a person will be prone
to fall into a life of unrepentant sin, sowing disorder and unhappiness
and anger and rage against anyone and everyone who dares remind him (or
her) that there is a God, that He has revealed Himself to His rational
creatures solely through His Catholic Church, that we must obey His
Commandments at all times as we strive to scale the heights of personal
sanctity as His consecrated slaves through His Most Blessed Mother's
Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. This is why the devil has had a
veritable field day in Modernity, which is founded on a rejection of
these truths, and why this field day of his has been enhanced by the
ethos of Modernism in the counterfeit church of conciliarism that
operates on a de facto basis in a spirit of universal salvation
that denigrates the horror of personal sin, including the Mortal Sins
committed against the First Commandment by the conciliar 'pontiffs' as
they have esteemed the symbols of false religions and dared to enter
their places of false worship, each of which is 'sacred' only to the
devil himself."
Wasn't the motu supposed to end these problems?
Rockville Centre Communion Scandal
NOW Comments:
Well, maybe the good padre could appeal to the Vatican about these
communion in hand abuses. No, wait, Benedict gives communion in hand,
too. Never mind!
Pro-life
leaders concerned about pro-abortion article in Vatican's
newspaper
"In recent weeks, pro-life Catholics from around the world have flooded
Vatican offices with protests, petitions and letters asking for a
retraction or clarification on an article published by L’Osservatore
Romano implying that direct abortion could be morally justified or
its evil mitigated in some 'extreme circumstances.'”
NOW Comments:
This is to be expected, since they supported his candidacy in a big way.
Yet how is it Novus Ordo "bishops" are lining up to oppose Obama's Notre
Dame visit, when they themselves are
the ones who gave the green light for voters to elect him. Let's spell
it out in large letters:

Service held in synagogue!
N.J. woman
'ordained as a priest' in controversial ceremony
"Last July, Mary Ann Schoettly was
automatically excommunicated from the Catholic Church after a ceremony
that she says made her a deacon -- a ceremony conducted in willful
defiance of her religion's ban on ordaining women. Today, in the eyes of
a small group of renegade Catholics who believe women should be allowed
into the Catholic priesthood, the 66-year-old Sussex County resident was
ordained a priest, in a controversial ceremony held at a synagogue."
NOW Comments:
The ceremony was rightly condemned as a "pseudo-ordination" by
Philadelphia's Novus Ordo "archbishop" (much like the ones he performs,
though in a different sense, of course). Conservative members of the
Conciliar Church will be quick to point out that when John Paul II in
1994 when he issued the decree,
Ordinatio Sacerdotalis,
he condemned the idea
explicitly and definitively. Now while Novus Ordo Watch rejects Fr.
Karol Wojtyla has being a valid pontiff, we will entertain the notion
strictly for the sake of argument and state that there is nothing in
that document that would raise it to the level of an infallible
pronouncement, were he to have such authority. We bring this up for
those people of goodwill who are still wrestling with the controversies
surrounding Modernist Rome, but who have not yet been able to make a
definite break with the counterfeit church. It is important for them to
bear in mind that commencing with Vatican II, unquestioned teachings of
the Catholic Church (such as the condemnation of ecumenism and religious
liberty) were rejected and discarded as not in keeping with the times.
Similarly, the exclusivity of ordination for men may one day be rejected
and discarded for the same reason. The time is not yet considered
opportune for such a radical move and we shouldn't expect it during
Benedict XVI's reign, but there are plenty of signals within the
Conciliar Church that it's simply a matter of time, as can be seen by
the recent links below from Tradition in Action.
The Novus Ordo Files
The Latest NEWS & ANALYSIS...
About this page
The revolution besieging the Catholic
Church as a result of successful Modernist treachery that reached its
culmination at the Second Vatican Council has now entered a new
millennium and continues unimpeded in its destruction of souls. Despite
the much-ballyhooed "new springtime" for the Church, the stark reality
is not growth, but utter
decay wherever one looks. What
has emerged is a pseudo-Catholic Novus Ordo (Latin for "New
Order") religion where the
outer structures of the Church have been seized by men who long ago lost
the Faith (or in some cases, never had it), along with hirelings who
take a stand if it's fashionable and doesn't affect their
pensions. While that counterfeit religion retains trappings of
Catholicism, in substance it is as empty as its churches, seminaries and
convents.
The purpose of this "News and Analysis" page to show not only that the
destruction is both ongoing and global in its reach, but, even more
importantly, that Modernist Rome is complicit in the havoc and has,
through words and deeds that bespeak errors in morals and doctrine,
established a veritable counter-magisterium. Thus the admonition our
Lord cited at the top of the page is very apropos, indeed: "By their
fruits you shall know them."
